The post is about how Tinubu has made naira weak, imposed high inflation on Nigeria.

3,500 naira in 2015 was 17 dollars.

17 dollars today is 27,200 naira.
Pay no mind to that empty skull. Sometimes I wonder why they are so proud of been stupid.

All these historical adventures are pointless. If you go back far enough the trip cost N5. If you also go back far enough minimum wage was once N100, today it is N70,000.

It didn’t start today so what exactly then is the point?

Many of you are too young to be alive in the mid eighties, the drop in the standard of living was worse what we are experiencing today. Hard to believe but true.

Between 1985 and 1988, Naira lost almost 90% of its value which is equivalent of Naira going from N600 to N6000 per dollar today. Naira has only gone from N600 to N1600 and you won’t let us rest!
I no be small pikin. I was the last form 5 set!

I remember buying Mars bar for 50k in 1981! I remember buying groundnut for 10k. My mum gave me N20 when I was in the boarding house to purchase Maltina which was N1 then in 1988 as she did not like me coming home so skinny.

People, whether young or old, delve into the past out of nostalgia, love and insight.

In 1981, the government set the minimum wage at 125. It stayed that way until 1991 when it was increased to N250. That was probably the year they issued out the N50 note and the N1 coin. I was in Unilag then. I was one year Sowore's junior.

Maybe Tinubu was wrong. He should have taken the easy way out. Continue to pad the naira until we ground to a halt. The problem that Okonjo-Iwuala saw and raised alarm some years ago but we continued to live in denial. Go and read the truthful and professional comments of Governor Oti even though he is in opposition.

U are so foolish by saying ds. Since the fg has given lagos all d agency, sea port, airport, e.t.c. So someone will not go to lagos to enter plane to travel out, someone will not travel to lagos again to clear his imported goods from outside. No one could hv travel to lagos from the east if the fg has given the south east all agency

Babablu bulabu.

3,500 naira could get you more than 23 liters of petrol in 2015.

Today 3,500 naira can only get you 3.6 litters.
you don’t know that you are talking about. It was 850 naira 2015.

We are taking about full tank for most cars.

I understand your angst but how exactly does one act in this situation, the legislative arm of government is gone. The judiciary is gone , the police is gone , the military is gine, the only thing that seems to be remaining is the part of the economy driven by the non formal sector. It just looks like the anti christ started with Nigeria. Painful thing is the the church people are mute while Nigeria decays.
You forgot INEC. That one is long gone. When you add MC Oluomo thugs on the streets and Wike-like thugs in Political parties you'd realize only military or act of God can prevent Jagaben 2027!

Lagos is no man's land. Every ethnic group in Nigeria contributed to building Lagos.
Money from crude oil in the Niger delta region contribute to building Lagos.
You from Okitipapa Illishan can't claim Lagos.

For your best interest, declare Oduduwa Republic so that you own Lagos.

We can as well say the journey was less than 2 hundred naira before the PDP came to destroy Nigeria in their 16 years of misrule. Also, why are billionaires always leaving their States in droves to seek better life in the SW?

go and ask why Warri has become a shadow of itself and lost its glory, our oyel, go back to your state, marching ground, land grabbers, etc, remove the seaport in Lagos , and make the eastern ports ,ph , Calabar , more effective, you will see what happens, after 2023 election many eyes opened , ask real estate agents and they will tell you, 70 percent of the containers belongs to a particular tribe, and own 80percent of markets the state govt generate Igr , no matter how educated you re if you re clouded with bigotry and ethnic resentment, you remain a stark illiterate, the greatest man from ur tribe tried it with 20 pounds policy after the war, he died by making it simple for himself with rat poison ,

Lol see this comedian o! Because you bought maltina at N1 in 1988 you think you know the history of inflation in Nigeria. A few years earlier than that we bought Maltina for 15kobo, and coke 10k…..salaries did not change for many years. I remember my fathers salary @ GL 16 it was the same N12,0000 in 1986 that it was in 1978.

See Babangida’s children o! When we were riding chopper, chopper was N96! So take the pictures of ikorodu rd when you weren’t born and show someone else! We travelled on the old face me I face you Lagos -Ibadan road …..a road you probably don’t even know still exists today because you think Lagos Ibadan express is the only road connecting Lagos to Ibadan!

See small boy forming elder! (Just kidding)
