I like am like that. Before I employ you with art degree I need to see a prestigious uni on your CV so I can differentiate between those who studied arts by choice and those who studied arts because of laziness or lack of aptitude

There was one guy I did both primary and secondary school with. I have known him all my life and he never crossed class C or D to enter class B talkless of A, from primary to secondary. Today he is a high flying lawyer having knuckled down in his SS3 and University years. Another of my nigga who was near the bottom of the class (placed between 20th and 30th but never demoted to class B) is now an Anaesthesiologist in USA collecting good pepper. That shows that belief, determination and ambition are the most vital ingredients even in a "dull" student. There is no excuse for anyone with aptitude to be studying Masscomm except in abroad setting in a prestigious uni, then we will know it's by choice.

Do you know that even in England, the worst, most dull and most unambitious students in my time would scrape together one E at A Levels and go to Uni to study "Media studies" which is our version of MassCom here. We just saw them as time wasters who just want to enjoy student loan for 3 more years before facing the real world.
ibime channeling sefago

that dude was another academic snob. left to him anyone without 2'1 or maybe even first sef should be sentenced to a lifetime of menial jobs

ibime when a mass comm graduate meets him on a train

How I knew MassCom was a useless course was even 10 years ago. My first cousin born to my uncle wey no hold was adopted by one of my aunty wey get pepper. She trained this girl in one private school in AkwaIbom paying N300k per term which was $2k dollars then. I heard the girl was doing well such that when I visited PH in 2014, I insisted I take a road trip to Uyo to visit her in her boarding house. The next year which was her SS3 year na him matter cast, I heard she's started playing and becoming unserious. My Aunty who is a PHD holder, alumni and board member at Abu Zaria had set it up for her to go study law at Zaria. On top of that, that my aunty is well connected to the point of being friends with Sultan of Sokoto and sitting on the board of ABU Zaria and could have paved way for her professionally with connections and jobs if she just followed the path my aunty set for her. She said no, that she wants to do Masscomm at Uniport. She finally flopped her final exams scoring 180 and my aunty disowned her. That's when she said she wants to use that 180 to go to Polytechnic, I said last last you must sit at home for one year and write JAMB again. She finally passed the JAMB to get to Uniport but to study journalism which is not far from Masscomm. At this point I've almost washed my hands off her but still giving her small benefit of the doubt. Her first year of uni, she called me one day. Before even greeting and talking as adults, she started fake crying "Uncle, I need money". That's when I shouted at her that is that how you talk to adults with childish voice? From then I washed hands off her, she can't squeeze N1k out of my hand today. She is the one that educated me on the unambitious nature and general uselessness of MASSCOMM people.
that is the real problem right there. 😈👹.

There are universities accepting below 200, even as low as 160 depending on the course one choose
Definitely not Mass Communication

E be like you read this MASSCOMM, the way you dey Voltron for them
Mass Communication is usually up there with law and co. When I wrote Jamb in 2012, the cut off mark for mass communication was 230.

The easiest way to prove Ibime wrong would be to see if any of the 12k students who scored the 300 above put in Mass comm as their potential course of study.

God help him if a large % happen to fall in that bracket.

Is there a breakdown of the intended courses by the Jamb candidates BluerayDick?
There's no such breakdown. JAMB's statistics usually focus majorly on the gender of the students and their state of origin (for reasons best known to them). They usually don't indicate what course those highest pergromong students intend to study

In the 90s people were not scoring up to 300. Highest scores were 256, 267, 277.

Does anybody know the marking scheme of JAMB now?
The tutorial I attended back then, they used to have JAMB marking scheme. We would write mock JAMB every month and they will give us our results.

People dey score 150 steady 😂. The director of that tutorial center would tell us that is how brutal JAMB marking scheme can be ; so u are expected to study harder

I dey ask because back then if you ask widely enough in different schools and tutorial centers you go find out say their purported JAMB marking schemes no align together. Maybe it changed later sha.

I don’t like vdm and whatever he stands for but the misuse of power in this country is getting out of hand.
Efcc can’t claim responsibility for his arrest because they know the reason is stupid or they don’t have the right, all these government officials are just doing what they like.

There really is no way check this, because Jamb doesn't publish that information, they'll usually only release the top 10 candidates and that's it. Usually people who attend the prestigious universities attain very high scores to get in irrespective of the course. You'll be surprised 250 in Jamb would still not get you political science in Unilorin.

But I thought they said he was arrested by a combined team of EFCC and DSS officials. And I heard they've gotten court order to remand him pending when they will file charges against him.

It looks as if the guy has stepped on a lot of toes and now they want to deal with him. E be like say he Don annoy some powerful people in the course of his crusade online

That's what really happened, recently he insulted a bike dabiri concerning some underage that was trafficked and she didn't do anything about it.
My own is what efcc is doing there, he didn't commit any financial offense
On what ground are they charging him to court for?
Nobody is ready to come out because they really don't know, they just want to flex power and punish him. You see all those talk about hold your leaders responsible is a scam

I said I don't mind. Las las you fit be all those Shakespeare and Macbeth people wey dey follow passion but get brain like Soyinka dem. But that Masscomm is for the mentally lazy
Creative courses will demand you to be imaginative, expressive and original. Applied fields will demand you to implement practical problem-solving. Subjects from the humanities place emphasis on interpretive and analytical thinking, rather than rote memorization or regurgitation. Different types of intelligence and/or skills are required, depending on which field you wish to delve into, so your suggestion that one field is inherently superior is fundamentally spurious and factually inaccurate.

And FYI, students flocking to a course or programme is not indicative of the course being easy. It's a common habit among the younguns to look at STEM subjects on surface level and assume that they are mentally tasking, which explains why they quickly flock to social sciences, that is until they actually dive deep into courses in social sciences and discover exactly how much critical thinking, research and ingenuity is actually required. It's like that cute hot teacher in your school who you think doesn't know how to whoop ass, until you become a defaulter on the receiving end. wink

Well, according to EFCC they said the petitions against him pertain to grave allegations of financial malfeasance which cannot be ignored by the Commission.

Let’s wait and see what the charges against him will be .

On this one, I am for nobody and I am for everybody. Let’s wait and see where it will all end.

I think calling him again Fawehinmi of this generation is a bit of a stretch .

Personally I think he has a hero complex which makes him always want to “chook mouth” in almost everything ; both the things he’s knowledgeable about and the ones he’s not.

He has a whole lot of characteristics that makes it unsuitable for him to be referred to as a freedom fighter . His bias and self serving agenda is a turnoff for people who really want to take him serious .

He will be fine sha

My own concern is ; the people who destroyed their ATM card and threatened GTB after his arrest , what will they do now that GTB has not been indicted in being responsible for his arrest ?

In fact , he was staked out at 3 different GTB branch because he announced online he was going to GTB , not because GTB called for his arrest
