I doubt this record is world best. GPS tracking devices are espionage tools and so I don't folks with more advanced, less detectable ones will make too much noise.

The potential for this is endless. I'll give you one major reason why this is a major development.
Imagine that every Nigerian carries this GPS device on his or herself. Your location will be known at all times and you can be tracked when kidnapped. If this can be improved upon such that it can be an embedded device under the skin, it will really do a lot to frustrate kidnapping.
