– Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has sharply criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the state of Nigeria’s democracy, particularly targeting the governorship election in Edo State. In a public address, Obi described the election as undemocratic and claimed that the true winner is widely known among Nigerians.


Obi, a prominent opposition figure, asserted that Nigeria cannot be considered a democratic nation, urging citizens to confront this reality. “Let’s tell ourselves the truth. Nigeria is not a democratic country,” he said, pointing to the Edo election as a case study. “The election that happened in Edo, was it democratic? Everybody knows who won the Edo election.”

Nigeria has finally become a One-Party state. I'm a proponent of a free and fair election, irrespective of who wins. We saw all these from the beginning that Tinubu will destroy what remains of the Nigeria's democracy.
