RandomFellow:Yes, they will swell to at least 220. But they won't lose their reelections. Highest is they won't win the APC primaries. And whoever won it will be rigged in. There's so much controversy in LP and PDP that anyone who wins the election in that party currently will lose out at the court. And yes, these controversies and factions are sponsored and instigated by the current people in power at APC. If I was a politician too, I would reconsider my political standing on LP or PDP. It's a mess. Two people who should never have been let into the corridors of power were allowed to be in the fore front of our nations future one after the other. |

Mitsurugi:Hmm, does it mean they'll be denied tickets to run at all, or the masses won't even vote them in? Which is it sef? |

lebete3000:They will be denied tickets. The ones that might scale will be seating Governors. |

RandomFellow:Most of you makes me funny because you don't know the dynamics of Nigerian politics. 24 hours is a long period in politics and you never even can tell what will happen in 2027 from now. Nigerians are suffering and pretending and you think the political class are at ease? It only took Obi less than 6 months to destabilize APC in many states, someone else can do even more in this suffering and pretending era. Change happens during suffering period in any country and don't think Tinubu is immune. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 |

It's no rocket science, APC might be winning the Presidential election and most of the sit in the House and Senate. Slaves always love their masters or oppressors. |
| Re: How The Political Parties Stand In The House Of Representative by Qadaffi2idiamin: 3:08pm On May 08, 2025 |
Scrap that house and learn more towards a single parliamentary system. Them too copy US and UK criminals that's so heavy for Nigeria to sustain. |
| Re: How The Political Parties Stand In The House Of Representative by RandomFellow: 3:08pm On May 08, 2025 |
CorrectionFLuid:You just buttressed my point. That primary is where APC will hold their blokus. APC had their persons, powerful persons in the election you won. Defecting to APC is to go and meet those powerful persons; people that know how to win Primaries in APC. Your seat is as good as gone ![]() |
| Re: How The Political Parties Stand In The House Of Representative by RandomFellow: 3:09pm On May 08, 2025 |
Smartcitizen:So what you are saying is that... Someone can emerge in PDP or LP to win those that defected right? |

merits:seat that you will never seat on top is not useless |
| Re: How The Political Parties Stand In The House Of Representative by lebete3000: 3:11pm On May 08, 2025 |
Mitsurugi:Okay so a seating Governor would be allowed to vote again. I wonder why APC behaves that way. You'll enter a ruling party just to go start from the scratch again. Na wa oh |
| Re: How The Political Parties Stand In The House Of Representative by OluwatobiJoshua: 3:11pm On May 08, 2025 |
Smartcitizen:The next Nigerian election will be interesting. If someone like Kwankwaso can merge with a notable personality from the South. It will not be an easy walk as usual for the incumbent. Then again, we have the Labour force (Teachers, NASU, ASUU etc) that are known to support the incumbent leader, this is why the dynamics is very predictable. As long as the Labour force keeps collecting their slavery monthly salary, they will support anything, even though the economy is on a free fall. The North needs to wake up, they are the only region that can change the dynamics of the next election. I call the Northerner the freethinkers, they vote for who they really desire, the Southerners are not freethinkers, they are slave to the system, majority are 9-5, salary earners and just give them a sense of hope that things will be better, they will support you. |

Mitsurugi:God bless you. The party you are defecting from have taken you as their own. Yet, you are foolishly leaving your home where you are loved and defended to a house you are not even recognized. You're going to a house with very important persons that are more valued. They have the machinery to deny you the party ticket. Imagine that okada guy in LP from Kaduna South... There's no way he'll return! He won't even win the primary election. He has committed political suicide. Him and his likes are fools, big fools |
| Re: How The Political Parties Stand In The House Of Representative by OluwatobiJoshua: 3:22pm On May 08, 2025 |
RandomFellow:It doesn't always work that way, another way to look at it is that a sitting Governor sometimes earn another ticket if he or she has only used one term. They change party sometimes if they realize their party is losing popularity in the state. Take Oyo State as case study. PDP is so solid in Oyo State that whoever comes out using the banner of PDP is most likely going to win. If an APC aspirant eventually win with a near miss in the general election for Oyo State and let say PDP won the next presidential election. The APC Governor might consider switching party to PDP, to make his support more solid and to be in good grace with the federal character. More reason politicians can't be trusted and if you are, you need to thread carefully. |
