If you don't have a German scholarship, E.G, DAAD, your first class preference has not been implemented yet. You have to wait like everyone else
My program is DAAD Sponsored but doesn't fall under Bachelor, Master or PhD. I emailed the embassy and I was told to book under Category A long stay student. This was like 6 months ago but it seems we now have a new portal for booking, reason I'm asking Ich

alot has changed since then. Currently, only a German sponsored scholarship is eligible. If yours is Sponsored by German public funds, go ahead and apply

Hello everyone, please any update concerning appointment date?
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Freebys: 2:39pm On May 06, 2025
Jomacokwu:
You need it but due to the uncertainties of visa it's not advised to pay. Also, there's an option to pay when you arrive to Germany. Use Dr. Walter Educare.
Please can I get a link
Because I didn’t see the option in the educare

Hello, please I need clarification on the awaiting time. I'm a new applicant and when I started the application, I saw awaiting time to be approx more than 1 year. I want to know if Germany is no longer accepting invitations for student visa
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by deim98: 8:34pm On May 06, 2025
please I need an advice. I intend to do masters in digital health and most schools offer the course in winter semester. So I’m a little bit worried cos what if my AD comes when classes have started? Let’s say Oct/Nov period. What do I do? Because based on deferring it would mean waiting till next year October or should I enroll without being present?
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by deim98: 8:35pm On May 06, 2025
it takes an average of 18months in nigeria to get an appointment date. so you have to book/or join the waiting list

Good day, everyone.
I'm new here and have taken some time to read through the threads . This truly seems like a valuable and supportive community.

I'm a Nigerian graduate interested in studying in Germany. However, I'm concerned about the lengthy visa processing times and this new requirement to deposit funds into the blocked account for two years before getting a visa appointment date.

Does anyone know if applying for a German visa in a neighboring country, like Ghana, could potentially speed up the process.

and if so how do i go about that
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Jomacokwu: 2:54pm On May 07, 2025
Typically the waiting time for any African country is long including Ghana, last I heard its more than 8months. Best option would be to get a scholarship from the German government.

Also, block account is not new, it has always been there, there's also the letter of support which can used in place of block account.

Please I need your advice. I want to process a Declaration of Age (Affidavit of Birth) because I don’t have a birth certificate.

According to the requirements, one of my parents has to do the affidavit on my behalf and present a valid identity document that has a signature.

Now here’s my situation:

My dad is available to do it.

But his Nigerian International Passport is expired.

His Nigerian Driver’s License is also expired.

We don’t have any other valid ID (like a Voter’s Card with a signature or valid NIN card that carries a signature).

Does anyone know if an expired passport or driver's license can still be used for this affidavit in court or for embassy documentation?

@Hannnania

NIN is good enough. You can do your affidavit online and download.

The VO officer said I should make sure the identity card has a signature.

Does any ID card have signature?

Have you done your interview? Because you mentioned VO

Does the blocked account has to be two years before you can be considered for visa?
