Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will battle defending champions Senegal in the quarter-finals of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations on Monday, May 12, at the Suez Canal Stadium.

Nigeria, who finished second in Group B, were drawn to face the runners-up of Group C and Senegal secured that position with four points, setting up an exciting quarter-final clash against the Flying Eagles by defeating DR Congo 2-0 in their final group game.

Despite being considered one of the tournament favourites, Senegal had a sluggish start, playing out a 1-1 draw with the Central African Republic in their opening match before losing 1-0 to Ghana in their second group game.

Football can be unpredictable. Besides, this is age grade competition. The Senegal squad that won 2 years ago may not be the ones playing in this competition. I'm optimistic our boys can scale through

Edit
Those boys look really young sha, seems measures have been put in place to prevent age cheats in this kind of competition

This Nigerian U20 team is not impressive at all, the two matches i watched them play...they are at best an average team.

Goodluck to them anyways.

WAFCON to play in June, yet, not one single friendly is prepared

This bunch in NFF are the worst set ever. Under them, things keep falling apart for our various national teams. Funny thing is that, despite their dismal performance, they will still get reelected. The Falcons have the WAFCON to play in June, yet, not one single friendly is prepared for the girls so far. Useless bunch

If you have seen any of these guys game, I don't think you will stake your money on them to win Senegal. The worst bunch ever assembled. The coaching crew has no idea how football is supposed to be played. Very pathetic to watch this boys. I asked myself, is this the best that a whole Nigeria can offer? It's a shame honestly.

The sluggish start to this competition, is always the case where Nigerian teams are concerned (remember the last AFCON); but they usually come alive during the knockout stages.
I hope the above holds true for this U20 team.
