If N10k last you for 2 weeks which simply means 20k per month, then that is fair pricing when you have like 20hrs per day.
Lol. Is he using electricity for 20 hours a day? Having power supply for 20 hours a day doesn't mean you're using it or you should be using it. Is he even staying at home 20 hours a day?
Even power officials used to say that band A customers could be having 24/7 power supply but they no born them well to use it as such, na debt go kill u if you try it.

Electricity is not cheap anywhere. Na decades of subsidy make this pricing look weird.

We just need to ensure we increase wages so people can afford basic things like electricity.

Affordability is the main problem here. If we can have massive jobs and increased wages, then it will be easier for the populace to afford things.
Abeg, stop that! Stop justifying nonsense! An American based who recently relocated back to Nigeria even complained that electricity tariff for band A in Nigeria is outrageous.
Let's compare minimum wages in Nigeria, UK and USA with the electricity tariffs. Then, compare it with the electricity tariffs in each country. That of Nigeria band A shouldn't be less than 400% higher

I am the landlord and I made a mistake of adding is to a service charge when the come it. It’s my first time and I am not repeating the same mistake. I am getting a separate meter but yet to be available.

Mind you, you can bypass in my area.
Congrats and more houses to you, long may your growth continue brother grin

To the topic, you can bypass anywhere!

Question is, on the day of consequence men go fit stand am?

Bypass of 70k electricity don bring fine of 400k plus wey I witness.

Abeg finally enter the matter but the affected party still coughed out more than 200k.

Get that separate meter ASAP!

It will save a lot of wahala

he is not using meter.
Nepa officials just come with 5k bill every month end
Interesting....... The revenue from many estimated bills don't get to the DisCo, just so you know.

This is part of the corruption keeping us in darkness literally!

Chief, I'll vex for you o 😂

I've not had constant electricity since Tuesday. As I'm talking, there's no electricity.

Let me shock you further - in the last year, I've paid more for electricity/transformer/pole replacement than I've paid for my prepaid meter. All on top epileptic supply.

I seriously hope he'll make magic before 2027 and electricity is constant. Even if not cheap, let it be constant.

If not, he'll go back to his Village.
I support you 100% if the light is not stable before 2027 make he go back because he said it ,but we should not also complain about the price.
But are you on band A?
You see nepa dey cheat us with this repair ,they know we need the service and we can't wait they will deliberately leave it so that we can contribute to repair it for them

If u want to make it in this country, first of all forget all the lies we were told about education and certificate.

Hustle like u have no other time, hustle hard like an illiterate and then,u will see gradual change in ur income.

Then start improving on them until u get better at it.

Dong forget,I started very small till it got better.

U can too.
This,I did some years back.

Inless you use inverter ac you likely spend more that 160k.
Me I only use the 1hp in bedroom, turned off the big deep freezer for a smaller one, one st anding fridge, the normal fans and others, I average 5-10k daily, if the kids are home from school then 15k+ daily as they turn on acs in their rooms or 2hp unit in the living room. Ofcourse with the heat these days one cannot stop them.
But have you been having stable light in your area like this before this govt come to power? If No,which one did you prefer, expensive available or cheap but not available

Thanks for the prayer.

We’re mandated to get something called busbar which makes it difficult to bypass, however I don’t subscribe to any illegal activities.

It seems like lies to you but it's not, running a family in nigeria of today is way expensive and people hardly have anything less to save,my monthly expenses is between 950k/1.50m for a family of 7, house rent not inclusive and trust me no lavish lifestyles added
Because we buy many things we do need .you think we need it but we don't actually need them.

Is only Nigeria we don't check power rating of our appliance before buying them but we now complain that electricity is expensive.we use 2 fridges when we know one can actually serve but now come to talk about expensive electricity

I'm not on Band A, thankfully.

NEPA is another fantastically corrupt organization. Almost 7 years ago, we bought about 4 concrete poles in my area cos a storm spoiled the former ones.

I was surprised when the Oga nepa demanded we pay him 30k to disconnect the transformer. When we tried to negotiate, he got upset and was blaming us for fixing the light.

He said we should have waited so that nepa will fix (he wanted gains, of course). If we'd waited, we wouldn't have electricity for 6 months. Community did it within 3 days.

Nepa and police, I don't know which is worse.

Better ,I think they said world bank or so install it for them through osinbajo when he was in power and FG has been doing that to some villages not more than 2500people now.through rural electrification something.

I said he is not using prepaid.
Nepa officials come and collect money
Many customers don't have prepaid meters or any meter at all.
That means he doesn't have estimated bills being generated for him either. If that's the case, it is a deal between him and the marketer in his area. He's not officially using electricity.

Light is stable? If I show you how much we spend on high electricity monthly then add cost of diesel @1070 per liter, you will be shocked. Aside residents, businesses are almost closing up because of high unstable electricity and high diesel cost to power gen.
Where is the stable light despite the high costs? They said band A will be 20hrs daily minimum, if you see 12hrs thank God.

I use to hear "inflation is coming down.

I do not see how it is coming down o.
N10,000 only gives me around 40kwh of electricity which lasts me for only 2weeks to power

•my AC for like 1hr daily
•Fridge is powered for around 10hrs
•Ceiling fan is powered for around 15hrs daily
•And 3 light bulb around for 7hrs.

I spend around 20k monthly on just light bill.
Light bill and rent alone cost around 55k per month, rent is 400k per year. it outrageous.
So unfortunate

The generator is still brand new so wouldn't want to give it out jst like that, besides I use it to power my A.C since the solar setup can't Carry that till I do the next upgrade on the batteries......😢

[quote author=2cribz post=135294195]To those thinking I'm poor,I spent 6.5m installing g 5kva off grid with 20 panels and 28 gel batteries. I bought sumec gen for 350k,I didn't use rhe gen more than 3 times before the carburettor spoilt because I abandoned it with fuel inside. Solar is the way. 24/7. Light[/quote
]

But you said you are on 10kva powered solar inverter, like how much does that cost?
