The court is right, pay TV isn't essential service, and we are operating a free market economy, if dstv subscription isn't affordable for you, there are other alternatives like startimes, or you can go float your own pay TV company. FCCPC should leave dstv alone and focus on shoddy services by essential service providers like the power distribution companies, banks with their excessive charges and so on. By the time subscribers drop to a level unimaginable, DSTV will adjust accordingly

Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.

Nigeria is a free market. Prices are determined by forces of demand and supply for most products and Dstv is one of them.

FCCPC cannot fix price, they are only to ensure competition and ensure value for what consumers pay for.

Fair enough. No agency or person can stop someone not to set their prices. I believe this judgement will be sustained even at Supreme court

Better. I don’t know why they like harassing Multichoice. Are they the only form of entertainment available? Is government giving them subsidy to cope with the high cost of business?

Prices of essential commodities went up and they didn’t do anything, but anytime Multichoice increases prices they will start making noise all over. Our priorities are twisted.

The service DStv offers is a luxury service its not an essential one .
Some can live without their services and there are alternatives to what they offer

What personal interest? The court said the provider has right to set prices. This is a non essential product, and Nigerians can do without it. Let's stop being myopic. Being myopic was exactly how APC came into power in this country. And now we don't know how to get rid of them.

If the court had given the president power to set prices, tomorrow you may build a product, and a political rival will use his connections to kill your company through price setting.

This thing is simple stop watching multi choice, by the time millions of Nigerians boycott them , nobody will tell them to stop price hike.
