Let’s be real. Nobody regulates fuel stations this aggressively. Nobody touches telcos.

Any company forced to justify every adjustment in a hyper-inflationary economy while others are given a free pass isn’t being regulated. It’s being targeted, just so you know

The MultiChoice saga is not just about pay TV. It’s about the business climate. Are we building an environment where success is punished and resilience is ridiculed?
Re: Multichoice Vs FCCPC: Only President Has Power To Fix Prices, Court Rules by Benmsu: 2:37pm On May 09, 2025
This one will benefit the masses so the president will not do it. Nothing will be gazetted
Re: Multichoice Vs FCCPC: Only President Has Power To Fix Prices, Court Rules by Mofe123: 2:40pm On May 09, 2025
The FCCPC should rename itself: Federal Commission for Checking Pay TV Companies. Because when it comes to other sectors, we barely hear a word!!!
Re: Multichoice Vs FCCPC: Only President Has Power To Fix Prices, Court Rules by Omojay08: 2:44pm On May 09, 2025
Though the suit was struck out, the court held that FCCPC cannot single out MultiChoice unless it can show a legal basis or prove Multichoice dominates the entire pay-TV market, which it failed to do.

Where is the personal interest. Is dstv essential to life and to live?

You people say “support local” until it’s time to actually support local. MultiChoice has trained creatives, funded Nollywood, and put food on so many tables. But we choose you forget all that? Na wa. Do a research on people that benefited from MultiChoice, e go shock you
Re: Multichoice Vs FCCPC: Only President Has Power To Fix Prices, Court Rules by Adetheprince01: 3:11pm On May 09, 2025
The law allows companies like Multichoice to set their prices, and unless the President formally delegates that power, no agency can override free market decisions.

My problem with Nigerians is that we are too wasteful and too pompous. Why go for DSTV's high price when you have options?
The best way to make Multi choice drop their prices is to stop subscribing. It's as simple as that. You think Europeans will do what we are doing?

We should be interrogating the conditions that are making it difficult for businesses to thrive, not vilifying those who have stayed and continued to invest in our people.

We want more jobs, more creative opportunities, more African stories told by us. But then we choose to criticise one of the few platforms enabling all that. It doesn't make sense.
Re: Multichoice Vs FCCPC: Only President Has Power To Fix Prices, Court Rules by Phyate: 4:07pm On May 09, 2025
I don't even understand again. Is FCCPC here to regulate businesses or just to harass companies? There are bigger consumer protection issues in this country, yet they only react to this one company. It's giving village people at this point.

You are very correct I don't use dstv neither do I use any other cable platforms. I can sell my explorer to you at a give away price. Even the dish is just collecting dust and rainwater for over 5 years since I blast Yetunde and other dstv telemarketers to stop calling me every weekends.

It's obvious, you don't understand what government means. President Tinubu alone is not a government. He is simply the head of a government. The word government as I've used it refers to all past and present leaders that are responsible for governing the country.

Just a little lecture for you!
