Irrespective of how competitive the course is , 295 in JAMB will get u admission if u pass post UTME well .

That is exactly why the 295 JAMB score is questionable . It has been proven over time that anybody can fraud their way through JAMB UTME , hence why schools came up with POST UTME to vet the students they end up giving admission .

This is not always true.
Unilag mode of admission is UTME/8, POST-UTME =30 marks, O'level=20 marks.
295/8= 36.88, let's assume he scored 27/30 and his O'level is 20 marks.
36+ 20 + 27= 83.88
Unilag cutoff for medicine had been 85 in previous years.

There’s a lot of nepotism and “man no man” in government unis when it comes to top courses. And also many schools have adapted what they call post utme screening, they don’t even write exams anymore.

295 these days is not 295 back then, there’s a lot of 300+ scores now, and I forgot to add schools still have preferential treatment for students from their catchment area. So yes I think it’s very possible for someone with 295, a very good waec result to still not get medicine, they probably would shift you to another course but not every one agrees to that so you just sit for another Jamb, happens a lot with younger students

No doubt there’s some PR involved but I think his popularity is organic. I watched the inauguration of Ghana’s president, John Mahama, and Traore received the loudest cheers and ovation.

As for Burkina Faso being a glorified dustbin, that’s due to decades of exploitation by France and the West which Traore is now trying to reverse.

I saw one on FP saying her brother or sister scored similar high score in 2024 choosing computer science only for him or her to score 162 this year.

The question is how do u score that high for computer science last year and still have to retake JAMB this year ? Are u saying computer science too is so hard to get into with such high scores ? Why is nobody showing us their last year post UTME results to back their academic brilliance story up ?

I'm only citing an example based on what you said earlier about medicine. I was only showing you that it's still possible to get that score which is not very high these days as competition is really massive.

Or is 27/30 not a good score for post UTME?

The example u set is actually biased na . U skewed the data to make it seem UTME result is the most inportant consideration when the school is considering who to grant admission
