I have written post UTME of UNILAG and OAU before and I never failed either . And those are top federal institutions .

Some people find it easy to pass courses ghat involve calculations and principles , while others find it easier to pass courses that involves reading , understanding and application of the knowledge to real life scenarios or case study.

For me, in order of difficult I'd rank it physical sciences/engineering, arts/biological sciences tie, then social sciences. I think social sciences are easiest because on some level, we all can relate with it, doesn't mean there are no very difficult aspects in the social sciences, or outliers in social sciences that'd best some of the best science students.

E get why US and global scholarship opportunities tend to priortize STEM subjects...even the ordinary physics you talk, for secondary school, it was far from ordinary.

If you pack all the first class Physics students for Nigeria, put them inside one class and test them on some very difficult aspects of Physics, person go carry first, and person go carry last, does that mean the person that came last was dull, or that the subject matter was tough?

You are not saying anything new that we don’t know or that I have not addressed up there .

There’s a reason people are advised to go for courses they identify as their comfort zone .

I once mentioned it here that I was placed in the sciences in SS1 off my JSCE result which was actually the best in the whole school . But because I don’t feel any real passion for the sciences , I took it upon myself to have me reassigned to commercial class .

I could as well have gone to the sciences , struggle like most students do, pass WAEC after 2 or 3 attempts , get into the university to study a course , struggle with my grades , have sleepless nights , graduate with an average grade and then join the hordes of people shouting “ science is hard “ .


If u are cut for science do it, if u are cut for art or sciences , do it as well. But don’t sit in one corner and be running mouth on other people’s choice of career/study path u have not walked in. E no gel at all
