GoI hasn't accepted or denied the claims yet. In fact, they aren't announcing any hits on anyone's fighters right now. Why? Because ops are still ongoing, so doesn't make sense to provide free BDA to the enemy by listing out what we have lost. So right now, I just don't know what actually happened. Fog of war.

One thing that is certain though, is that India hasn't lost a single fighter pilot yet. This has been announced, that all fighter pilots are accounted for. And till date in all wars since 1947, India has never ever tried to hide its human loses. The minute a soldier or officer gets KIA or MIA, the Indian Armed Forces announce the deaths. And then his body is returned to his hometown where he is given last rites with full military honors and our media covers the entire event live for every soldier. Happened against China in Galwan Valley clash 2020 too. And just yesterday a soldier was killed by Pakis on the LoC. Naik from Telangana state, if I remember right. He was announced KIA, his body returned to his hometown thousand km away and the media covered his funeral and interviewed his uncle. So, there is no doubt in anyone's mind that all our fighter pilots are alive and well.

Now assuming we've lost a jet. So what? Big deal. This is war. Loses occur. And this is just a loss of an airframe, the pilot is alive. The loss will be studied and tactics modified from lessons learnt. That is the job of the Indian Air Force TACDE unit. Its normal, really. We have hundreds of fighter jets engaging in BVR combat, a multi force engagement with heavy presence of SAM, complex terrain and a dense Electronic Warfare environment. And the enemy has been using civilian airliners as a shield. So loses are normal.

India has $700 Billion in its cash reserves right now, that's enough to buy 2800 Rafale fighters. So a single lost airframe can be replaced. What is more important is that the cost must be imposed on Pakistan. That is the political and military objective. And that's happening. A nation whose cash reserves are so low that they need to beg for $1 Billion loans from the IMF (happened just yesterday), to them, loss of an airframe might be a big deal. Not to us.
Very intelligent and matured response. It’s also cool to see that you did not even bother addressing his claims of the “false” Rafale shootdown. He actually expected you to go into full denial mode since you’re Indian.

As usual, there is fog of war. But our pro-Ukrainian friends here are making a scene out of that incident because a Chinese missile was involved. There is nothing surprising about shooting a jet down. It’s normal in war. And most people actually expect India to win the war once the real shooting starts.

LordAdam16:
That's informative.
The bolded perfectly captures the headspace of Indian citizens right now.

Since you're Indian, how would you rate your AD grid's ability to blunt Ukraine-style drone swarms?
We've seen Israel struggle to take down Hezbollah drones. Russia has lost a few depots.

-Lord
Its medium..... drone swarms can be targeted effectively by only four means:-
Electronic Warfare (EW)
Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) [Lasers and Masers]
AAA and CRAM/CIWS
MicroSAM

In the Indian scenario:
EW
Systems already in service with Indian Army and Air Force and some smaller one even available with Border Security Force, so readiness level high.

DEW
Current Indian Laser tech has only managed 30kW Laser weapons which are in service with the Indian Forces in small numbers. Can only handle smaller quad/hexacopters, not larger fixed wing kamikaze drones like Shahed 136. India's DRDO currently working on 60kW and 100kW laser systems that will be comparable to the latest American systems in power rating. But it'll take at least 10 years before the Indian Forces start inducting these in large numbers.

AAA, CIWS, CRAM
India has around 1000 older Bofors L70 AAA guns out of which 200 were modernized by Indian industry and its these 200 guns that were the MVP of this skirmish. The Pakis were sending around 400-500 kamikaze drones each wave (watch Indian Ministry Briefings of last three days). And the guns managed to shoot down EVERY single drone.

The Indian conglomerate Larsen & Tubro has created a new 40mm CIWS called Sudarshan. It has a muzzle programmable airburst round similar to the Oerlikon Millenium gun and its AHEAD ammo. This is currently the best solution to drone swarms in the world. Indian Air Force had already placed an order of 240 Sudatshan CIWS, which is enough to protect every single Indian Airbase from all directions. Indian Army is still holding weapons trials for this system but once cleared, they'll order 1000 Sudarshan CIWS, to replace all old Bofors L70 guns.

MicroSAM and Missile CIWS
Two systems have finished design phase and are now undergoing live testing. First is Bhargavastra, a MicroSAM. And the next is DRDO/Adani VSHORADs. Both will enter service in next 3 years.

Radars and other EOTS
The radars and EOTS to tackle massive drone swarms are all ready as per the Indian industry but only half way through their introduction in the Indian Armed Forces.

Once all the above finally enter into Indian service within next 5 years (except Lasers), the ability of IACCS to handle drone swarms will increase by a factor of 10 or more compared to right now. Then I would rate it very high instead of medium.

There is also ADGMS program, but that's to protect Indian Army when it rolls into Pakistan, so I'll leave it be.

Big scam. India should have just stuck to Russian jets. Pakistan used to buy western jets before pivoting to Chinese jets. But for some reason, India went from buying Russian jets to buying western jets.

Even after buying those French Rafales, they considered buying F16s and F21s from the US and are in talks to purchase the F35. The F21 itself is a specifically modified version of the F16 made specifically for India.

But as usual, India will only end up shooting itself in the foot with such jets because of the many rules and conditions the US will impose against them. Western jets are usually all hype and noise, and they will still slam usage rules against you.

Pakistan itself cannot use its own F16’s against India because of US rules against such. The US also withheld spare parts from Pakistan some years ago over political issues. The case will be no different with India.

Were they invisible during the times when they had Russian made jets?
. I understand if you don't want them using Western made weapons and all that comes with it but can you at least come up with a reason as regards your preference rather than the usual hate-clouded judgements? You yourself have attested to the fact that the Indians were once patriots of the Russian made machines so what led to the change of preference in favour of the French-made ones?
India had in the past lost Russian-built jets in battle and does that take anything away from the quality of these jets? Loss of jets in battle often depends on tactics, upgrades, and the adversity involved. Quit consuming and regurgitating nonsense at least for once in a lifetime.

Yeah, no. Nobody in India is seriously considering buying the F-21 F-16. F-35? Maybe. But they aren't actually on offer. And even if they come, Indian Air Force won't accept them until America allows us full access to the Mission Data Files, which they won't. Oh, and the data link needs to be the B-Net Ar SDR version that is made in India by ARC Ltd. Otherwise the F35 won't be compatible with the rest of the Indian air fleet.

Look at the time of this tweet. 5pm IST the ceasefire was announced.

And for those mumus that say India vs Pakistan is Hindu vs Muslim. This Border Security Force Sub Inspector Imteyaz, who was martyred just now, was a Muslim. Fighting for India against Pakistan.

This is how you always jump on other people's comments and end up not saying anything reasonable. As usual, you went off point. I never said Russian jets are invisible and never insinuated such, so I wonder why and how you jumped to that conclusion.

All I said is that western jets are inferior to Russian jets and come with rules, regulations, and political baggage that prevent the user from using it to their full advantage. Pakistan itself is not allowed to use its F16s against India, so those jets are more or less useless at this point.

I also clearly mentioned in multiple comments that India has won its previous wars with Pakistan and is likely to win this one too. So, western jets or not, India is still the top dog here.

But as usual, you are saying something else. Maybe it is because you are reading with your eyes closed. In that case, I suggest you open it, so you can see what you’re reading.

Or maybe you are just trying to expose your hate for Russia even though you are supposed to be neutral, as you always claim to be. In that case, your talk of “hate-clouded judgements” applies to you and not me.

The US is the major peace broker between Ukraine and Russia, also a major player in the conflict in the middle-east, and has now also played a major role in the India-Pakistan conflict ceasefire.

Yet some people wants to compare China and Russia with the United States of America angry

They are Levels in this game..
