You have one vote. Many northerners will replace your vote with 4:1 ratio

I've never regretted moving. I think Australia is not well marketed in Nigeria. It's peaceful and people are actually well off. It's no brainer that once you settle here, you may never want to return back to Nigeria, you may visit occasionally though. Also, African foods, swallows o, meat o, fish o, are readily available. You'll wish you had come sooner. It's a big economic and migration destination for Oceania and Asian folks though.
I can't wait my brother. That day will come and I will pop champagne with Gerrard59 my die hard anti migration Nairaland right hand man.

But you have no way of knowing this until you're already in the marriage. Also, people change and people can deceive you as to who they really are till long after marriage. So eventually it boils down to luck. But I gave you a like anyway because you have a point
I respectfully disagree. Deep down, we all know. But we ignore it or allow ourselves to get carried away by feelings. We refuse to acknowledge the truth and let our emotions get the better of us. But alas, we are only humans, and humans are hopelessly flawed

They will be able to assist immigrant igbos with accommodation, food , clothing until they find their feet. They can rally around for themselves to provide company when people are marrying, child dedication, new yam festivals, house dedication, etc.
Instead of doing it simply for Igbo, why not make it Nigerians community?

Let's remove this tribalistic mindset. It's better they make it Nigerians community than just making it one tribe something.

You really don't know. All sorts of things can fundamentally change people. Someone very submissive and humble when broke can become a cruel tyrant once they have a bit of money. Same thing can also happen once you move to a different country, a baby is born, the partner loses income, etc. Some people can also just change for no discernible reason - remember that devout pastor's who suddenly decided she wanted to be a prostitute!

Ok, we are on different lanes here. A submissive and humble person does not mean that they will be pragmatic and have common sense. A prostitute can also give sane balanced opinions

You are correct, I have been there. I remember flying for 27 hours from Sao Paulo to Melbourne via Doha. Excessive flying hours crossing oceans!!

Australia is a nice place. Still gat some friends there!!

The submissiveness or prostitution is not the issue. The issue is the CHANGE

$8K is a big money anywhere in the world. Unless you are a millionaire. Been a green pasture doesn't mean you pick money off the streets. You still have to work for the money. The only difference between that place and Nigeria, are the opportunities that abound over there for the willing and strong.

Yesterday I was watching a video on X where a woman was talking about bricklayer making 150 pounds in a single day(that's for a menial job).

What this people won't tell you is that that 150 has a lot of baggages but sell picture of paradise to unsuspecting victims.

I know that 8k is a lot of money , understand my post first .
.... another nonsense talk, the £150 does not have any baggage if you are self employed and pay your own taxes and National Insurance. You are paid 150 a day for 8 hours work end of story, and come to think of it bricklaying is not labourios rather it is monotonous. If you get a contract that run for months you can be making over 3k a month, because that 150 is minimum paid to bricklayers.

Yeah, because the man will travel alone back and forth. My secondary school's classmate's sister and her husband live in Australia with their four children. Go ahead to purchase a ticket to and fro at $2K.

Olodo doesn't know that taxes and insurance are part of the baggage I'm talking about .

If you can save over 3k in a month , that's over 36k in a year ,so where's the complain of 8k for travelling coming from ? The travel can even be done once in 3 to 4 years .

You mentioned the willing and strong ,how many people are willing and strong in Nigeria? How many people can do two works combined with studying in Nigeria?

You don't have a point friend. Why would you do two jobs on a student's visa? You said you want to study and now you are talking about two jobs? This is the major problem we Nigerians have...we love exploiting the system. Student visas are made for those who intend to study and during the application process you are expected to prove that you have the money to take care of yourself, without working. Which is the way it should be. But we like to bend things and later turn around to say it's tough overseas.

Not everyone abroad does two jobs. It's your lifestyle and commitments that determine how hard you would have to work. I know people that have left school for donkey years, and yet have not gotten a single job in Nigeria. But in most places in North America, you still will be able to find two jobs to do, if that's what you want.

You see this is where you are wrong again, you minimize your payout to HMRC if you have a registered company as opposed to PAYE.

How many Japa people have registered company? Tax is one of the baggage, others include bills but still that's btw ,if you're rich enough to Japa but complain of 8k to visit Nigeria where you have family and other interests then Nigeria is not really bad .
