blackgold2018:I don't understand this 50/50 repairs, like the driver will also add money for mechanical fault or what? fix all leg noise, let the car be in at least 85% perfect then hand it over to him and let him know he's to be doing any maintenance regarding the leg issue while you do oil change every time it's due, let him know anytime the car wants to be returned, it should be returned back the exact way you give it to him without any noise from the leg. you take full responsibility of mechanical fault, but any mechanical fault cause by his own negligence like allowing the car to do overheating thereby damaging the gasket, he's to take care of that but any mechanical fault cause by wear and tear, you take full responsibility of that.. |

DEGREE2466:I don't know how much you wished the job paid but I guess Our realities are different. I easily average 250k weekly NET driving on Uber alone. Nothing depressing about that If I drive on bolt I'll probably do the same. |

Gentlelife50:You need to also factor the land mass of the state in India that is harbouring 245 million. (India sef na very wrong example) Texas is bigger than Nigeria (If I am not wrong). Lagos is too small for the workload on it, and it is the failure of past and present governments to not have created similar cities like that. |

blackgold2018:Drivers ordinarily don't repair d cars. It's the owners property and as such the owner takes full responsibility of the vehicle repairs. However, if the damage is as a result of incompetence, negligence or ignorance of the driver, d driver may have to fix it. Secondly, it is just common courtesy for a driver to fix little little things and not always leave repairs for the owner 100% that's how we derive driver takes 10k or 20k repairs. Asides this, the owner is actually responsible for the repairs of his car. So asking to do 50/50 or any ratio at all is exploitive. Especially when u have demanded up to 50k weekly. If u ask driver to remit 30k or less then u can tell him to do all repairs and servicing since u have reduced his burden. But this doesn't go well because the driver will not repair or change parts with quality ones or will patch instead of replace. At the end of the day, u will still be the one to repair to ur taste with ur money. So best thing is collect the standard rent and do ur repairs as at when due to ur taste. Then driver fixes what he spoils. |

izzou:Small truth dey inside wetin you talk. When we are ready for important discussion, we will look at the allocations of some South-South states since 1999 till date and why they are still so backward despite having very small population |

donbrowser:We have used the excuse of Lagos having the only functional port and all what not as the reason for its success How come other governors along the coast line cannot replicate this model and also develop their cities? When a place has a good network for transportation, security and power, businesses will move there speedily. Gradually, it's starts to develop, because people will migrate there without being told. I no be APC fanboy, but it is not Lagos fault that other states refused to have sense |

izzou:If na me talk this thing now dem go say na APC and Tinubu stuff cause am. You cannot be receiving more allocations than Lagos, still have far lower population and be stagnant. The distance is just too much.

Pearl1910:hmm very good. Thanks. 50k weekly remittance with the owner on the maintenance/repairs. And driver having 20k less repairs Its remaining oil change/servicing. Who handles that one |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Pearl1910: 5:45pm On May 11, 2025 |
blackgold2018:Hmmm...I thought those two long explanations of mine should answer all questions and clear any doubts. The owner of the car is responsible for all maintenance and repairs on his vehicle. |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by ksmart027(m): 6:26pm On May 11, 2025 |
blackgold2018:Change your oil yourself. Even if you buy the oil, make sure you inspect the servicing yourself, if not, the go carry groundnut oil pour for your engine. |

XGhost:You are doing well. Consider using a hands-on approach to mentor newbies in the house. What I mean is, having them ride along with you for a week or 2 to get hands-on experience. You can even charge for it and make it a part of your revenue. Weldone! |

Pearl1910:I admit that you have a point here. But the app is still solely responsible for giving you that information about the destination and you don't have to call out riders for refusing to provide it on first interaction. Most times, riders know where they are going and have inputted same on the app, so you will not be at fault if you follow the map to get to your destination. I am surprised you are asking about the security exposure in stating your destination to a driver who has just called, now knows your location at the time and may or may not accept the ride. |

ksmart027:Is my suggestion out of place? I see lots of newbies coming here to ask about ways to survive in this endeavour. Ride-Along is a common way to gain field experience and shorten the learning curve. |

Anybody using FAAC to hide the true nature of things is just being clever by half. Lagos State IGR alone is more than the FAAC of the three top oil producing states in Nigeria combined. Lagos state earns more than the top 6 richest states in Nigeria combined. On top of that Lagos still collects a fat FAAC plus IGR and surpasses all other states by a factor of more than X10. Anybody comparing Lagos with other States should ask his father why his family isn't as rich as Otedola, Abiola or Otudeko family. Afteral they are all Yoruba and existed in same century. So by that logic of why are other states not like Lagos, then his father should be as rich as the Adeleke family and should have same wealth. To whom much is given, much is expected. They never compare Lagos with Abuja cos Abuja floors Lagos. Yes it's unfair to compare FCT with Lagos but oh, it's okay to compare Lagos with other States? If u want to downplay the role of Federal capital being in Lagos for so many years ask yourself why FCT is the second highest after Lagos in IGR generation. The govt of Lagos is glad people are here doing business and earning a living because it's fetching the State money and they encourage more people to come to Lagos and transact. It's only ragtags that can't comprehend nada that will be saying go back to ur state in a bid to spit. |

odimbannamdi:So if u request a trip and the driver pulls up with his trainee in the car, u will still enter? |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by odimbannamdi(m): 6:58pm On May 11, 2025 |
Pearl1910:Lol...yes. obediobembe, one of us here, says he has a driving partner who drives with at night. A simple introduction of your partner or trainee will suffice. Or does the apps have any documented policy against such? |

odimbannamdi:Sorry boss, i misunderstood your post. I thought you mean the should be in the car with him while he works. The truth is that everything a newbie needs to learn have been discussed in these thread before. So my advice to any newbie is to go back and read the thread from 2020 or better still search for what the need to know on the search bar. Much respect baba. |

odimbannamdi:Hmmmm... I never hear that one before o. Rider's that refuse to enter when I tell them they booked Uber share?? I'm very positive it won't fly with Uber riders. Besides there's nothing I'm doing that I haven't said here. The A-Z of succeeding in the hustle has been posted here over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again by different people. Veterans are here, they've shared all the tips in the book for anyone to at least have a sound foundation to begin to build on. If the newbie can't go back and read the last 500 to 1000 pages e neva ready |

| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Pearl1910: 8:06pm On May 11, 2025 |
odimbannamdi:Yes they do. It's not allowed And I am very sure u will not accept riding with two strangers if u are scared of telling your driver your destination. That's by the way, I am in Yaba, and I just got a trip now and Riders destination is Folarin street. The picture below is a list of multiple Folarin street in Lagos, so I should call Bolt customer care to tell me the area the rider is going instead of just asking the rider where they are going? I don't want to go to Alagbado, Agege, Mile 12, Alimosho, Mushin etc. I had to ask and she said Magodo, before I went to pick her up. So telling ur driver where u are going if and when they ask is for your own good.
