Akinpresident:PDP was never a Democratic Party. It was a creation of ex military generals with the purpose of transitioning power from military to civilians. As such it operated with a military mindset…. With impunity, Imposition, dictatorial, command and control, do as I say structure It’s undemocratic nature was masked because it was in power. It unraveled when it lost power because it is not rooted in compromise, give and take and other democratic principles. As such it didn’t know how to handle being in opposition and those who tolerated the impunity deserted it when there was no cake to share! They are now forced to learn how to be a Democratic Party. PDP is not dead and will be back but it needs to realize its priority now is rebuilding the party, reducing the influence of those with the old tendencies and forgetting about winning presidential elections for now. |

highchief1:The way you guys hype this Wike ehh. We all understand that the spotlight is on him for now and just like everyone before him that won't last forever. Wike was made by the PDP, he's nothing without the party. Same Wike contested pdp primaries with all the money from Rivers state and lost to Atiku and went went on a rant about betrayal, same thing that he's guilty of. |

casualobserver:I don't agree. You made it look like APC are very much better. By the way, how many founding fathers of PDP were military people? Their ratio against civilians is not much. Otherwise, what they'd have done would have been to get anyone they don't want out and replace them with another person, not ceding power to another party. And since then, what have the so called military founders done? PDP is prolly on an irredeemable self destruction journey, but they're far better than any other party in Nigeria right now. |

Akinpresident:I spoke about PDP. I made no mention of APC. That is your own creation! PDP was a military construct. It was the anointed party for the transition. Even the presidential candidate Obasanjo was hand picked by the military. That you had civilians does not mean it wasn’t a military construct. Look at a lot of the top brass in the PDP from 1999, a lot of them are ex military. OBJ,Babangida, David Mark, Bode George, Nyako, Jang, Atiku, Alamieyeseigha, etc. Even late yaradua that became governor of katsina in 1999 became governor because he is from a military family! Go through a list of the PDP chieftains and governors senators etc, you will be amazed how many of them are ex military, police customs, DSS, NSA etc or people who were “friends” of the forces particularly the military. PDP was a creation of the military. That is where you will find the Ex military/ ex forces boys because it was their party. Tell me which opposition party in 1999 had retired military men? They were all in PDP because it was their soft landing transition party. It was their creation, like all military exploits they use civilians just like politicians use civil servants to do their dirty work….so don’t be deceived. I know many of you are young and may not know many of these people are retired military. Go through the top brass in PDP from 1999-2007 and check their backgrounds. They are either military, police, customs, DSS, NSA, etc. even Anenih ex PDP chairman is ex police! Party chairman ex police President ex military Vice President ex customs Senate president. Ex military Numerous governors and senators ex one force or another And you expected such a party to behave democratically? It is that legacy haunting g them today! |

fabolouz1:No it's not about having the balls, it's about following the party constitution and INEC policy too. Before you can suspend a party member, the request for his or her suspension must come from his or her ward where he or she comes from. If you suspend a member without a formal request/application from his or her local ward Chairman or leaders, that suspension will not stand, court will strike it out and it will become an effort in futility. And as we all know, Nyesome Wike controls everything that happens in his ward in Rivers state, so it's not easy getting his ward to suspend him, can you see why it's difficult? |

Atiku needs to forget his presidential ambition for the party to have any headway. His ambition has torn the party apart and they need to chart a new course to move forward. |

carzeem1:Please let us show some intelligence here. Ofcourse there will be civilians. Are you people so intellectually shallow? Can they form a political party without civilians? Why are we like this? Why are we so dull? Even when the military were in power they had trusted civilians who were “civilian military boys”. So apart from the fact that a party will always have genuine civilians, a lot of the civilians are people they knew from past associations they could work with and trust would protect their interests in a new civilian regime. Like I said even Yaradua despite being a civilian was a military boy, perhaps more military that those who once wore uniform! Examples of. civilians who are “military boys” are Abiola, Arisekola, recently at IBB’s book launch you heard some civilian military boys confess their sins. |

highchief1:I am not saying that Wike is not a good politician, just that you guys are overhyping him alot. You think wike did well to pull 237 votes in pdp primaries with all the money he spent to buy delegates what will now say about Peter Obi who scored over 6 million votes in the presidential election without any form of inducement? Who's a better politician? Wike miscalculates alot. Today, while Akpabio was able to negotiate and get the position of the No.3 man in the country wike negotiated a ministerial position....they are both former Governors from Southsouth. only advantage i see in Wike is Rivers state money, take that away and he's naked. I'll pick a Tinubu in terms of political sagacity over a wike, but then even Tinubu also was taught some political lessons by Saraki in 2015 to snatch the senate president position under Tinubu's nose |
