I wonder why people refer to it as as Peter Obi's Brewery when Obi's does not own a single share in the Brewery? Obi's only used Anambra State money to buy 15% stake in the business For those who don't know, International Brewery, Onitsha, formally known as SABmiller Brewery, was inaugurated by Peter Obi. The company brews the famous Hero Beer, Eagle Stout, Eagle Malt, Trophy Beer etc This company has created hundreds of jobs for Anambra people, and had a turn over of nearly 500 billion Naira in 2024 Think about that next time you call it 'Peter Obi's Brewery'

Don't bother trying to convince ur ch ins. Their blindness is intentionally self imposed. |

One of the biggest brewery in the country after Ama Brewery, Enugu. |

attackgat:Blame obi for that. He made it look like it was his own government project...he even had the sitting president come inaugurate it. He invested anambra state money in a company his family have shares....trust me where you people call saner clime he would be jail for that. |

attackgat:Trying to dissociate Obi from his brewry business so as to market him to the fundamental Islamic north. Pathetic Northerners are not fools. Most times you see them being silent , know they are sharpening their swords. |
| Re: Peter Obi's Brewery by gidgiddy: 11:43am On May 12, 2025 |
Bobodee09:It's a listed company, anyone can buy shares in it, even you |
| Re: Peter Obi's Brewery by DomPerignon: 12:08pm On May 12, 2025 |
gidgiddy:And Obi owned a personal chunk of that company and abused his influence as governor to divert state funds meant for state projects into it It's called : conflict of interests and diversion of state funds. |
| Re: Peter Obi's Brewery by gidgiddy: 12:41pm On May 12, 2025 |
DomPerignon:Not possible. International Breweries in owned by Inbev, a Belgium company In other for Obi to even own a significant part International Breweries, he would have to own the parent company Inbev, based in Belgium The only thing Obi did was buy 15% stake in the Brewery for the government of Anambra |

gidgiddy:The brewery was owned by Sabmiller before International Breweries took possession in 2017... Obi's family is among the highest share holders in Sabmiller... |
| Re: Peter Obi's Brewery by Bobodee09: 1:16pm On May 12, 2025 |
gidgiddy:Well I obviously wrote he invested state money in a company were is family have shares. That is clearly abuse of power and it never allowed. |

gidgiddy:Illiterate. Most multinational brands have to have local partners in Nigeria . That's the law. To persuade the investors to site their brewry in Anambra, obi not only gifted them land , offered them tax breaks but also invested state funds into it while holding a retaining share of his own. |

The funniest thing is that Akwa Ibom also has a stake in a brewery also but because they have a lot of other tangible things to show as development infrastructure, they rarely mention it. Everyone has heard that Obi invested (many wrongly assume he built one) in a brewery because with nothing else to show for the money that accrued to the state, this is the only thing he can point to. |
| Re: Peter Obi's Brewery by papyjaypaul: 3:32pm On May 12, 2025 |
You didn't hear Akpabio's response to Obi in the Senate? He kept using "I". "I did this and that", as if it is his money not Akwa Ibom's. They want to gbajue by making our money look like their own. |
| Re: Peter Obi's Brewery by DomPerignon: 3:39pm On May 12, 2025 |
papyjaypaul:And? Did Akpabio the he used his personal money ? Besides, Akpabio has tonnes of legacy projects he ought to boast of. Which one does Obi have other than this brewery which only last week some of you were saying a brewry investment was better than Solodu commissioning roads , a recreational park and a new government complex. Why are you guys now desperately trying to dilssociate Obi from his brewry investment that he and you his zombie followers have been using to campaign for him? |

attackgat:So, is this the company that fed ipob drunk to the extent of carrying guns to kill their Igbo people and use Igbo virgins for ritual? One day, police caught many ipob at a beer parlour early in the morning in of the police raids against ipob. Will ipob insanity have increased if there is no such international alcoholic company in Anambra state? |

| Re: Peter Obi's Brewery by yinkeys(m): 5:08pm On May 12, 2025 |
So grand malt & beta malt are owned by SABmiller |
| Re: Peter Obi's Brewery by DomPerignon: 6:31pm On May 12, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:Liar. The brewry was built by a South African firm SAB Miller before they sold it off to it's current owners and exited Nigeria. |
