IGR growth of Lagos under Tinubu. FYI Peter Obi generated just 1bn in 8 years. Tinubu did a 468% of IGR in 8 years as Lagos governor See the governors before and after Pearl's Peter Obi incase he wants to argue that Lagos location is why Tinubu did 468%. How come the governor before and after Peter Obi did over 150% each and Peter Obi could only do just 10% increase? I hope with this, you can see Pearl only knows how to drive around Lagos and has not political and economic literacy

Ragtag Browser, if anybody thought I was lying at least your WhatsApp group is useful today to give us a tabular representation of the figures to buttress my points. Thank you for the job well done. Next time u try to compare Lagos with other States, remember that Lagos makes X10 what those States are making and should never be compared. If u must compare Lagos, do so with the likes of Joburg, Cairo, etc and not Anambra as ur low IQ always pushes u to do. I am not sure u understood what u posted cos in your previous posts u gave the impression that oil producing States received more money than Lagos State but Lagos has tried to utilize its income while other States do nothing but embezzle theirs. U laughed at my statement that Lagos receives a fat FAAC, yet u post a table showing Lagos as the highest and number 1 recipient of FAAC. U don't need a brain to be an APC supporter and u always confirm that statement here on a daily. |

XGhost:And that's what someone is celebrating. As Tinubu no get anything to show in two years other than hardship, his supporters can only remind us he did nothing but increase IGR of Lagos when he was Governor. And he is doing the same thing again by merely increasing cost of taxes which is a lazy, dumb and dense way cos he lacks the intelligence and ingenuity of creating opportunities and channels for govt to make money. |
| Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Kaymaxi2222(m): 10:51pm On May 12, 2025 |
Pearl1910:the genuine question they ought to ask themselves is with all these increase tax here, removal of subsidy here and devaluation of our currency there what effect is that having on is government. Because obviously he hasn't done anything spectacular so far just embezzlement rumour. I had a discussion with one SAN who is an APC member, his son booked me for him when his car broke down in VI. And he was defending Tinubu that all the things his doing is necessary this and that. What I used to counter him is simple ' whatever policy a government is making, whatever decision a government is taking it should be for the betterment of its citizens and should translate to a better standard of living to its citizens, not to satisfy some IMF or world Bank. The government duty is to its citizens not IMF or world Bank. And I cited Donald Trump for example who doesn't care what the world Bank is saying or WHO or IMF what he cares about is America first , and how to make America great (though is manner of approach might be debatable) but his mission and idea is clear whatever is going to server the average American well is what he his interest in the rest of the world can go F themselves. And that's how the government of each country is suppose to be your Citizens first not IMF policy or world Bank policy first. |

Pearl1910:You are still the most cluẹ́less person I've ever come across in this life ![]() Notice how your likes went from 6 to a sad 2. I've always discussed the revenue generation capacity of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in this thread, while you've repeatedly claimed Lagos was a capital city bla bla. Now sit tight and let me walk you through some facts. There are four major ways any government earns revenue: 1. IGR 2. FAAC 3. Loans 4. Grants We started with FAAC, and it's obvious you don’t even understand what it means. You said my data came from a WhatsApp group lol. FAAC is influenced by several factors. One is the level of IGR generated, then population size, though there’s no single standard. Lagos gets the lowest allocation in the country, going by how much it earns through IGR. Lagos only receives a portion of its IGR, while other states get over 200% of theirs as FAAC. Check image 1 attached—it shows clearly that Lagos doesn’t receive all of its income, unlike states like Delta. Now that you’ve seen that, note this: why compare Lagos to oil-producing states? Those states generate far less IGR but get much higher FAAC. If you analyze FAAC vs. population, you’ll see Lagos is shortchanged. Many governors aren’t even trying. Why should I compare Lagos to Johannesburg when I can compare it to Anambra or are you avoiding the weak governance of Peter Obi? Governors have no excuse not to grow their state revenues. I showed you evidence of Lagos IGR before Tinubu. He boosted it significantly. What did Obi do? Why avoid the fact that Anambra’s IGR only grew by around 20% under Obi, while other governors before and after achieved 200%+ growth? You boldly claimed Lagos makes x10 of other states. What exactly made Lagos IGR jump from 600m to 40bn in Tinubu’s 8 years? Did they magically start collecting money off the streets? Why didn’t anyone talk about Lagos being a former capital those periods it could barely raise 600m? Even your peer mentioned loans. Again, no clue. You’re just a bunch of misinformed folks echoing each other all day. And to the one crying about tax above, asking what they do with the money. Lol, if Tinubu hadn’t reformed taxes in Lagos, do you think you'd be driving Uber here today? Lastly, to the enthusiastic Pearl throwing opinions without facts: are you aware Oyo State (not a former capital) had the highest VAT generation last year? When you look into that, you’ll understand why Lagos and Rivers took the FG to court to retain their VAT revenue. That legal action even spurred the FG to draft a new tax law. Cheers. Also, don’t forget that you were completely wrong in predicting that fuel prices would drop after subsidy removal.

Kaymaxi2222:This one started well but ended badly ![]() America's loan is in USD and the USD is the world's currency. America only need to print new currencies and declare it as loan against itself. If only you understand sha. He say na what has the government done. Wait till campaign period, you will see me here again if I'm invited though. |

I just hope after a while they won't later come back and say no more permits for tinting, that crime rates have increased due to it. ![]() It is well. Much respect, boss. |
