Onyebuchi Ememanka, the former Chief Press Secretary to ex-Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, has dumped his former principal and joined forces with current Governor Alex Otti under the Labour Party. Ememanka, a close ally of Ikpeazu during his tenure, served as his official spokesman.

According to sources close to Otti, Ememanka during the official welcoming to Labour Party admitted that Ikpeazu failed woefully.

Ememanka’s decision follows a period of personal reflection and consultations. In a Facebook post, he shared a picture with Governor Alex Otti and wrote: “Finally, after a series of meetings and deep personal reflection, I have made my decision. A time has come for me to choose a new path for Abia State’s future.”

“I have chosen to put Abia first and prioritize her sustainable development above all else,” Ememanka stated. “I have chosen Otti. I have chosen the Labour Party.”

This development comes after Ememanka resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) last week. In his resignation letter, he cited the party’s failure to address its losses and strategize for the future.

“Remaining in the PDP will make my vision a mirage,” Ememanka explained. “I will always be grateful to the party for the platform and cooperation I received while serving.”

Ememanka’s defection follows a wave of defections by core loyalists of the immediate past governor to other parties signaling early death to his political dynasty.

The defectors include, the Chief of Staff to the former governor, Anthony Agbazuere; a former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Eze Chikamnayo; a former commissioner representing Abia State in the Niger Delta Development Commission, Chief Chimezie Okoronkwo; former Commissioner for Public Utilities, Chief Eze Nwanganga; former commissioner in Abia State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, Chief Uzo Ihuka; former Commissioner for Environment, Chief Sam Nwogu, and a former chairman of ASOPADEC.

Effects of stomach infrastructure

Let be sincere to ourselves,Ikpeazu is actually a disaster to his state. This is not about politics rather is about reality. Though I'm a committed PDP and will always support PDP come 2027 but not like someone of Ikpeazu.

With the recent massive decamping of our politicians from one political party to another, it shows definitely that things will not get better any soon. It's all about their selfish interest.

Will the emergency lovers of Nigeria (ELON) condemn this move like they did any politician joining APC?

Governance is very easy; it's just that some of our people are very wicked and heartless. Just visit Umuahia and see how Gov. Otti is gradually but steadily transforming Umuahia within two years of administration. The Dozie way which was untouched during Okezie's administration, he has finished the it and extended it to the one leading to Ahieke.

Work has equally commenced commenced with okwuta road. What baffles me is thar these roads are not in the remote areas. Theodore Orji, whose senatorial zone, extends to Umuahia, Ibeku should have worked on these roads but he did virtually nothing.

The funny thing is that while he is doing this, he is not relenting in ensuring that the backlogs of salaries that he inherited from these greedy politicians are cleared. It's well
