If you are at least 30 year old, by now you should know that the govt and her business friends love to rule the country through fear and chaos. The less attention you pay to them, the better it's for your health. |

This was what happened when they banned cement importation....Dangote just snatched the monopoly and ran away with it till now. |

Ban fuel importation, this will help the naira get more value over dollars...do you know how much dollars we use to import fuel everyday? We need to buy dollars to pay for this imported fuel, this constant demand for dollars pushes it's price up, if we stop this payment, we will save a lot of national wealth. The benefit to nation is more important than benefit to some importers and middle men. I expect President Tinubu to do the right thing, we know he can take hard and necessary decisions, that is why we preferred him over the rest. |

There should be healthy room for competition, marketers are not getting the same level of favouritism that Dangote is getting from fg. He can't muscle other rivals just because he wants to be the richest man on earth. Dangote is solely responsible for the crazy price of cement now despite all the natural resources for production are on ground. |

Banning it completely will translate into giving Dangote a monopoly. That will be dangerous to Nigeria and the masses. Dangote that is eying worlds' richest man. Like the president said last week, if a ban is in place, an option for waivers will be available for valid importers. |

Marketers imported fuel that was used to power all Dangote's trucks and machines for more than 40 years before he built his refinery. Now, he is calling the fuel substandard and dirty. This is the same nonsense he did in Sugar and cement. Fuel Importation must not be stopped. They are the only ones to check his crazy tendencies. |

Biodun556:Gibberish...this is insinuation from your biased little mind. NNPCL will sell crude for Dangote in naira, fuel will be cheaper, because Dangote will be producing at capacity. You are either a detractor, one of the beneficiaries of the fuel importation, that is sabotaging our economy, or very ignorant of economics. Poor naira value is one of our biggest economic challenge now, we need the naira to boost its value to attract investors and to maximise the value of our resources and assets in the international market. |

Dangote is a funny man. As a local producer he should be able to push the marketers out of business by lowering his price and not hope for govt to do his dirty work. If his management lowers the profit margin, I'm sure he will force the importers out of business. Banning PMS importation because of just one refinery is bad because there will be no competition. However the govt should do more jobs and ensure it's 4 refineries are working optimally before they could ban importation |

this naija self.....I thought they said the local refineries is now producing... So port Harcourt and warri is not producing enough to challenge dangote ?And people are still there receiving salaries. Obj once said that those refineries can not work. And some people called him names. We don't want to face the truth in this country. Sell all scrap refineries to iron condemn people, so we don't spend money paying for none productivity |
