Idris Olalekan Criticized for Congratulating Emeka Over 372 JAMB Score

The Executive Chairman of IFO Local Government in Ogun State has come under fire from an extremist group of ethnic bigots calling themselves “Yoruba Ronus” and self-proclaimed Yoruba conservatives. Their grievance was because the chairman dared to congratulate Azoyenime Samuel Chukwuemeka, a student of Isaac School, Matogbun Oke-Aro Road, Ifo LGA, for his outstanding performance in the 2025 JAMB examination.

Samuel Chukwuemeka's result, which has gone viral across social media, shows an impressive total of 372 out of 400, with scores of 98 in Physics, 98 in Chemistry, 98 in Mathematics, and 78 in English.

While many Nigerians celebrated Samuel's brilliance and academic excellence, a few ethnic bigots decided to hijack the moment for tribalistic propaganda. These so-called Yoruba Ronus criticized the LG chairman for "using Yoruba resources to promote an Igbo student," with some even threatening protests and calling for his removal from office.

However, their comments were swiftly condemned by Nigerians nationwide, who blasted the Ronus clique for injecting tribalism and hate into what should have been a unifying moment of national pride.

There’s no way you can separate the school the lad attended from the LGA.

So the bigots should simply swallow this bitter pill and drink some water.

The Chairman should actually do more - monetary reward and scholarships to help raise the BP of his bigot tribe people.

Nigerians, especially those abroad, are the ones to quickly cry out that they are being discriminated against, but here back home we discriminate against each other based on our ethnicity or religion.

The Yoruba don't want the Ibo people, and the Ibo don't want to see the Yoruba people. Same thing—the northerners only want their tribes to live in the north.

I don't really know what led Nigeria to this bad situation we are in now.

I am a Nigerian of the Yoruba tribe. I am happy for any Nigerian that achieves a great thing, irrespective of which tribe the person comes from.

We all need to congratulate this boy and forget about the no-good Yoruba Ronu associates and their bigotry statements.
