Good morning . I just checked my miles per gallon meter. It shows that my car does 18.3mpg. Is this good or bad . Is this fuel consumption good or bad ?

NB : It's a 2012 Toyota Camry 4 cyl

It's good.

That's approximately 30KM per 4litres.

When you say it can be improved, do you mean the that mpg should be lower or higher than 18.3mpg?

Should be higher

Are you a fast driver? You can improve your mpg by being light on the throttle, also avoid carrying unneeded weight

Then it's very difficult to say if your vehicle consumes fuel or not.

Mpg should never be taken in isolation. It's heavily dependent on your average mph

Two people driving the same car with one doing 10mph and the other doing 20mph will never have the same mpg.

Best you can do is scan the car and fix anything that can lead to increased fuel consumption.

Depends sir.
Absence of catalytic converter on it's own may not cause high fuel consumption, however, a blocked catalytic converter may cause high fuel consumption.

Go and buy paint thinner. Check your plugs,checknyour exhaust, check your engine ,def would have lots of carbon inside,checknyour air filter,..but buy thinner first, like 2000naira own,buy 15 litres.go to express and fire the engine to at least 100kph on express for like 30mins......

Don't put paint thinner into your car tank. It will degrade the rubber seals and other components and cause issues later on. It can mess up your oxygen sensors and also piston crowns and lead to expensive engine damage.

Have the catalytic converter manifold removed and catalytic converter inspected for blockage or crack on both sides. (Your car is a V6).

You also may wish to change your purge valve for the evap system. It's located just by your intake pipe before the air filter box.

But I'd really love to see a live scan via video and also to know the state of your spark plugs and fuel injectors, fuel pump and air filter to know what actually is happening.

My car is 4 plug, camry 2012. I drive only in Enugu, fuel is being sold at 930 per liter here. 20k fuel gives me 64 miles. Please, how is the love scanning done, so I look for where to do it here on Enugu
