Average house rent in United Kingdom is 1200 for a one bedroom flat. It might be cheaper in some interior places. This has taken 50% of ur take home.

Food, water, light, tax on vehicle n house etc will take additional 800 then from there you can covert the rest
I considered all those, though I use 1000 for rent

That's basic salary.. no doctor takes home less than 3k home in the UK... and that's their house officers which is like the junior of the junior doctors...

Nigerians after plab 1 abd 2 start working in the UK fron FY2 position minimum and rarely.. most .. more than 95 percent start as resident doctor which is SHO. There take home is 3.5 to 4.5 depending on you call duty.

At the end of the month you can save min 1k easily even if you reckless with money...

So that 1k is even more than what you earn in 6 months in Nigeria.. you can't even save 1k or 2mil naira in a year working as a doctor in Nigeria except it ur own hospital.

A year you can save 12k easily and that like 24mil
And you still have money in your account
You can save 1k from 3k ?

grin

Japa for healthcare workers in Nigeria will continue unabated because the naira has lost so much value that the FG will literally collapse financially if Nigeria tries to compete with this wage structure.

Here is the monthly salary of UK resident doctors converted to Naira at the prevailing exchange rate:

Below are the conversions for the monthly take-home pay ranges provided for resident doctors in England (2024/25 pay scales, after tax/NI/pension deductions):

Foundation Year 1 (FY1):
£2,300–£2,500
£2,300 × 2,147.24 = ₦4,938,652
£2,500 × 2,147.24 = ₦5,368,100

Foundation Year 2 (FY2):
£2,600–£2,900
£2,600 × 2,147.24 = ₦5,582,824
£2,900 × 2,147.24 = ₦6,226,996

Specialty Training (ST1–ST8):
£3,000–£4,200
£3,000 × 2,147.24 = ₦6,441,720
£4,200 × 2,147.24 = ₦9,018,408
Even in Nigeria, we are not being paid equally, from teachers to doctors to IT guys.

I was once earning 150k as an IT guy, while some were earning 700k, comparison isn't necessary.

Soo dull. How about you also put the cost of their living expenses. You are comparing yourself to them. Do you spend in pounds? Why should they be paid in naira or equivalent to their peers in naira when they live in a more expensive society?
You are actually the dull one...!

Comparatively, Naira value and cost of living expenses placed in view, Nigerian workers are among the most underpaid in the universe.

A minimum wage earner abroad can comfortably feed and accommodate himself, can the same be said for a minimum wage earner in Nigeria?!!

How much are you willing to pay if you visit hospitals here?

Some software developers earn this much in Nigeria with remote work. We will get there one day.

Don't mind him.
Peter obi might not be 100% best but trust me he won't spend recklessly and he wont be docile like tinubu. He might be proactive in responding to crisis more better than what tinubu is doing as if he doesn't care.

Trust me osinbanjo would have been far better than tinubu. Because we saw how he responded to needs like the end sars protest how he listened and disbanded them how he tried to bring down Dollar a little bit when Buhari was away

3k pounds, that's N6M...why won't they leave the Country
To study and become a doctor in that same UK, you must spend more than 100,000,000 in 5 years.

Then how much do they charge in treating people in UK? Can you pay such amount?

If your takehome is 3k in UK, you may struggle to save £50

Even if they put everything including the cost of breathed air, they will still pocket as high as 1.8m monthly in Naira.
I just did an average calculation for it now and got #2.3m monthly after using an average expenditure in a UK environment
You are so dull. Rent alone has taken up half of that amount. Add taxes for car, heat and electricity costs, water, food, clothing and any other tax they can come up with. The UK will charge you for breathing their air, if they could. Good luck

Basic salary is about 2.5k to 3k. After calls and night duty enhancement .. take home is between. 3.5k to 4.5k depending on your rota

Rent ... 1k
Feeding 500
Electricity, gas, Internet, council tax 500

1.5 to 2.5k bal for you
500 for miscellaneous you can still save 1k to 2k safely every month.

Some people don't even spend up to this amount monthly
This still over 1.5 million in the save deposit every month.

You may not save that on a year in Nigeria if you don't girdle yourself well
