You have all the chance in the whole wide world.

Is it a self sponsored or scholarship?
Hey man. It's been a long time you been on this thread.

Do you live in Sweden? Is Sweden still worth relocating to with the study route? Is it still a good place to live a goof life abd get good jobs?

I want my sister to explore this route. Dunno if it's still worth it.

Please I'd be looking forward to a response from you or anyone.

Tack smiley

Thanks boss for checking up.
Sweden is good, though I'm not there at all.

Got some other projects cooking for me already, so I pend this for sometime.

Now, do a little research of schools in Sweden that allows partial school fees, gives student access to work and study, and ensure it's dominated by cultural mix of students from all walls of life. Don't limit your search to what the website says, every school hypes their services until reality dawn on you.

Check up few Alumni on any interested school, ask them sincere questions, some are lively on LinkedIn and will definitely open up to you.

Ofcos it is but also think about the barriers you probably gonna face. I’m Swede and I know it’s not easy for an immigrant from African background and it’s even worst right now ( have a look at the new immigration laws ) one good advice I will always tell my African brothers is to move to countries where you can communicate and integrate easily, if you can…

I’m currently in New Zealand visiting and damn this place is beautiful and reminds me of home (Gothenburg) .

Goodluck with your relocation

Hello Good day. i think luck brought me into this thread to meet you as i aim to apply for a masters degree in New Zealand for the FEB 2026 intake, while i also explore the skilled work visa route between now and then.

I just want to know how easy communication in everyday life is there and if there are a good population of Blacks. my study shows that the locals are generally friendly towards migrants but a testimony from you would be great.

Hey man

I’m gonna be brutally honest with you. Blacks have no place in the western world and blacks are below the food chain (if you understand what I mean). So that been said if you want to relocate don’t over think the whole thing abt black people cos they do discriminate them even in the states,uk and Canada which is densely populated with blacks.

For New Zealand I’m very sure you won’t have any issue being black and for sure racism is a constant issue but don’t let it hinder you from being great. Shit I have African Swedish friends who were born and raised in Sweden that don’t feel like that are welcomed in Sweden. It’s a mental thing and blacks I’ve met while in New Zealand were thriving academically doing their Phd at Auckland university. So if you thinking of moving to Sweden or New Zealand do it~ it’s better than staying in an undeveloped country and getting shitty salary with no sense of safety.

Hope I’ve answered your question 😀

Below I uploaded some amazing mindblowing pictures I took while in NZ.

Thank You so much. The explanations and/or clarifications coming from a black swede means a lot to me.

I will surely explore my options and try to make the best of moves. Financially, Sweden/Europe is an easier movement. BUT my mind has always been in the Aussie region.

lets see how it goes. Lovely images btw wink

Good day everyone, please I would like to ask a question about proof of fund. My first question is can someone use two accounts for proof of fund? Like a dollar account and a naira account or two naira account. The other question is if someone is trying to build a proof of fund after just getting to know he's admitted and need to apply for residence permit ASAP, how can they deposit money (like how much per day) into the account without it appearing as a lump-sum even though you don't have up to a week.

Another question is that, you're using these interest proof of fund, let's say for example you need like 45m but you have like 3 days to submit your application online and we know that these people often open new account for the proof of fund, how can the money 45m example be deposited into the account within a short 3 days and how can someone prove the money source if asked, since you don't have time to run the account or something, if asked. Please I'm a novice, so please don't see my question offensive, I just need help.

Another question is, will the proof of fund be uploaded when putting the application online or when being called for interview and how many days can you put the money to new account you're unable to run and chances of it being new account. Thanks to anyone that respond

You don't need anyone to spoonfeed you information. These are basic questions you could ask Google if you are serious about your life.

Good Afternoon Nairaland,
Please i’ve got some questions about international admission i need answers to. Firstly, sweden will start their application process by next month. Please will they accept my statement of result wheb i want to apply? because i’m a recent graduate and my school hasn’t given us original certificates.

Secondly, my international passport has just 2 names, M’’’ G’’’’’ (surname and first name respectively). While my school documents has 3 names. M’’’ G’’’’ J’’’’’ ( As Sur, Mid, First name respectively). Please will this be an issue when applying for visa?

Please respond 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻😭

Please do they accept WAEC result For English proficiency?

area74:
Students are eligible to work part-time during school time and full time during holidays.

Tuition varies and are usually paid in installment each semester. For instance, you are expected to pay 46,500 SEK every semester for my course at Umea University.

If one is fortunate to get a scholarship, that will be a massive savings.

All the best.

Please do they accept WAEC result For English proficiency?

Yes you can. I’ve seen it somewhere on the website. Check out the “frequently asked questions” section. Basically the process is just to send them an email and you can differ your admission till up to 18months

Decision on Residence Permit Application

Authority: Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket)

Decision

The Swedish Migration Agency rejects your application for a residence permit for studies.

Background
- You applied for a residence permit to study at Stockholm University from 23 August 2025 to 23 September 2026.
- You submitted copies of your passport, admission letter, and proof of financial means.
- On 18 June 2025, you attended an interview at the Swedish Embassy in Abuja, where your study plans were discussed.

Legal Requirements

To be granted a residence permit for studies, you must:
1. Prove your identity.
2. Have a valid passport for entry and stay in Sweden.
3. Fulfil the specific requirements for study permits (acceptance to full-time studies, sufficient funds, health insurance, etc.).

Migration Agency’s Findings
- You fulfilled the requirements of having a valid passport, admission to full-time studies, and sufficient funds.
- However, students staying longer than one year must show comprehensive health insurance. You did not provide proof of this.
- More importantly, the Migration Agency questioned whether your true intention is to study.

Reasons for Rejection
1. Multiple Applications:
You applied not only to Stockholm University but also to master’s programs at Göteborg, Uppsala, and Mittuniversitetet (in various fields like Social Work, Sociology, Wind Power Project Management, etc.).
Some of these programs (like Wind Power Management) do not relate to your previous background in Public Health.
2. Inconsistent Motivation:
During your embassy interview, you admitted you were not truly interested in some programs but added them just to “make up” numbers.
3. Unclear Career Goals:
- You said your career goal was to gain knowledge in Public Health and help your community in Nigeria.
- But you gave vague answers when asked for concrete career examples.
- You also admitted you were not aiming to work in Sweden after your studies, only to return home.
4. Doubt About Real Intention:
Because of the contradictions in your statements and the unrelated applications, the Migration Agency believes you may have other reasons to want to stay in Sweden beyond studying.

Conclusion

The Migration Agency concludes there is strong reason to doubt that your main purpose is to pursue studies in Sweden.
Therefore, your application is denied according to Chapter 5b, Section 3 of the Aliens Act.

Right to Appeal
- You can appeal within 3 weeks from the day you received this decision.
- Your appeal must be in writing and sent to the Migration Agency.
- The Agency will review it first. If they don’t change the decision, it will be forwarded to the Migration Court in Sweden.
- You may appeal on your own or with help from a lawyer/representative.

✅ Summary in plain English:
Your Swedish student visa was refused because, although you met the basic requirements (admission, passport, funds), the Migration Agency doubts your true intention is to study. They found your applications inconsistent (different courses, some unrelated to your background), your explanations vague, and you didn’t provide valid health insurance for long-term stay. They believe you may want to stay in Sweden for reasons other than studies. You have the right to appeal within 3 weeks. Please house who do I appeal this decision it is urgent

Re: Swedish Admissions And Student Visa by Gr8mind07(m): 3:50pm On Aug 26, 2025
The main issue here is the inconsistencies in your choice of courses . I don't understand why the comprehensive insurance was mentioned along as I'm sure you don't need it except your course
duration is less than a year.

Now to the appeal , it might just be difficult to defend . The best time to do that was during the interview ,but unfortunately you were not able to convince them.

You can still consult widely and i hope you get an accurate guide.
