Good Morning my people.

Abeg veterans help me. I need your advice.

Got a tokunbo 2008 Camry recently (probably not the best choice for this business)

Registered with bolt

Went out yesterday for the first time. Started around 7am.

My trip break down is as follows:

First was from governor road, Ikotun to airport.....

then to Lekki orchid ..,..

then to Lekki phase 1......

then to Balogun market .....

then to ikoyi park view.....

then to dolphin estate......

then badore...

and finally back to Lekki ....

Then headed home (Ikotun)

But lots of hold up in between especially that Lekki epe express way

After everything I had about 23k left after fueling, and will have to pay bolt commission of 8k.

Also, tried to find a client going to my destination (ikotun) that might, but didn't get.

Today, thinking of not focusing on Lekki because of that Lekki epe expressway hold ups.....will just make it general....mainland and anywhere.

Please veterans, I need your advice on how to correct my mistakes and navigate this hustle better.

Thanks in advance.

If I listen to you carefully , after fueling , you still have 23k with you , and minus the 8k commission,. Your total money in your pocket will be 15k...15k profit a day is a good one..though you can earn more and do better but the 15k is not as bad as you made it sound....do not let motivational speakers make you feel you are not doing well.. focus on reality and not sweet talks......do not let too much sweet talks make you feel you are not doing well....

And please e-hailing business is not just about how many trips you made or whether it is mainland or island..it is about waiting at the right spot at the right time...

E.g two days ago , I did not drive since morning because I have another business I do , so by 7pm I was very less busy and I was around that lekki phase one...I intentionally parked at around "farm city " in lekki..because I know that day is Wednesday which is "ladies night " at most clubs and funspots..etc...I know I will get long trips that will involve those that came to farm city at that night..I got a trip which made me more than 17k after paying commission......and do you know that some people will drive throughout that same day and it is the same 17k they made , which shows that getting the right quality trips is the strategy and not going on various trips....10 quality trips is more valuable than 100 low quality trips ..

@tboibamz
What you experienced yesterday was needed as a driver, cos it will brush up your calculation to the island.
Closing hours for workers are to be avoided if you don't want the traffic jam stress - both on mainland and island.
That's why many drivers start working as early as 6am and have a break when it's closing hours (like around 4pm until traffic starts disappearing), then they resume after the road is free.
Some don't even mind the traffic, they just wan drive and earn. grin
Some just want to hit their target and close for the day during the traffic period.
You don't need to run from going to lekki nah grin, just make sure say whatever you're doing, escape the entire island before 4pm.
That one no mean say the mainland would be free as well. grin
Na only Sundays you fit enter anywhere, anyhow, anytime without the fear of traffic.
Additionally, dey always check Google maps to see the areas with traffic (ALWAYS).
Bolt drivers no dey fear traffic nah.
Na we wey dey use indrive dey calculate like Jamb candidates. grin
Btw, once you don master the hustle, your earnings go increase.

Much respect, boss.

I am always laughing when people here respond to comments from APC fanboys about how Nigeria is good.

Nobody can gaslight me.

After you praise Tinubu on NL and X, and worship him for repaying an IMF loan, you'll drop your phone and go and face reality

You'll buy fuel at 880 or 1040 for diesel
You'll buy brake disc at 55k
You'll buy shocks at 50k

These things do not respond to cho cho cho.

When you praise Tinubu finish, go and face your life alone.
I don't even bother with them.

Bro, this current administration has honestly been the toughest I’ve experienced.

Imagine spending ₦400k every month just on food and small miscellaneous stuff. That’s not even counting the other major expenses.

Some of my businesses, sales dropped badly because people now see the products as luxury they can’t afford. That’s why I’m seriously considering getting back into the e-hailing business, just to survive And now they’re trying to frustrate us further with things like tint permit and increased license renewal fees.

This government is milking every sector, yet we don’t see any real improvements in the lives of average Nigerians. At this point, there’s no middle class anymore,it’s either you’re rich or you’re poor.

Meanwhile, one APC midget will be out here claiming this government is working for everyone, even though he’s quietly dying inside and looking for car rentals to survive
You too dey cry for here. Na me send you to do 100k giveaway wey no reach your mind? When you ready, you go sell all your things and find one place go. I even still ask Omoapena for rental few days. You can only cry. tongue

My brother, Nigeria has made us who we never imagined becoming. Ur vision is not clear anymore and everyone is just living and managing life... someone posted some other time for people to choose 6m in nigeria or 2k pounds in Uk and I said no matter what I will gladly choose 2k in Uk than 6m in nigeria because, 2k pounds is a reality in Uk if u work but 6m is an imagination in nigeria and 75 percent of the population of nigeria may not earn that monthly in their life time... the country has really truncated our vision and hope and we now pray for everything. It is well

Why does my quotes trigger you?. See the way you rushed to mention me ,it shows that deep down you know who and what you are.

Anyway, ₦100k isn’t my issue,I earn well above that and don’t need to sell anything to survive, infact i can do 100k giveaway everyday for the next 30 days and i will still see enough change. I just want the government to do better so that average Nigerians can afford basic necessities.

You don’t have a family or real responsibilities, so you can’t relate. But for me, I need every kobo I can get right now because this economy is nothing to smile about.

He should not listen to sweet talk but u just sweet talk him now na. U made 17k in one trip. Isn't that sweet talk? Is it only sweet talk if someone says he makes 50k daily?
Can u now see that our realities are always diff, we only need to have a reference point we are all working towards.

These are very good trips.
U didn't say how much fuel u bought and how much u Grossed with it.
U also didn't say when u closed.

Ur only undoing is driving from Lekki to Ikotun empty. No way u wouldn't have gotten VI to Ikeja then from ikeja u will get anywhere in Alimosho. Those two trips could have easily fetched u 20k addition to what u made before getting home. That's roughly 30k profit.

Never drive home empty except it's from Iyanaipaja or Egbeda or Ejigbo axis. Ur home area is very easy to see trip when closing.

My brother, I just responded to what you said about me struggling on 100k giveaway. I nor get body or strength to compete with anyone.i just dey give you idea of amount I earn monthly if you think 100k na my problem and I am still not satisfied because your government has made things difficult for everyone.

If you feel triggered by my earnings it's not my fault, it's your insecurity. And why should I post my earnings online and do 100k giveaway everyday, to prove what?
Do you think I am a drug Lord and have nothing to with money? You say i dey brag but na you wan post your earnings online grin

The point is that he should not get carried away by sweet talks including mine , because I earned more than him do not mean he is not doing well in his own lane.....he sounded like he was not doing well enough and he termed it as "mistakes".....if he is not cautioned , that is how some desperate people will take advantage of him and be promising him heaven while they just want to extort him..

A politician could shoot an innocent person in broad daylight and you'd find one Nigerian making an excuse for him/her, it's like a curse at this point.

It's not even hard to understand why slavery thrived so well here because for some Nigerians, the chains are from birth.

Just Continue

You self calm down cheesy I was just checking on you that's all. Don't take it out on them.

You see, after that initial time those people in politics section drove you away from that their space with a vengeance lol grin when you were posting all those your pro jagaban campaigns, I later saw that you were not so active here anymore too. Then you altogether later stopped posting at all except I mentioned you undecided to be sincere I was worried about you oh shocked it wasn't totally me 'taunting' you as we agreed, it later turned to me actually being concerned about you when you quit posting on NL altogether cry

So try to understand, even if you can't venture near the politics section again to do your usual thing you can still mingle amongst us here naw. Remember this is ground zero for you (as per nairaland support base wink ) being an APC guy and all cheesy

So, in essence what I'm trying to say is that. Once jagaban shows he is doing well we will all applaud him and also join you in solidarity to vote or him. So you have to treat us with kids glove and respect angry shebi you're a budding politician in the making and the APC card you're carrying isn't only for hunger alleviation undecided

Tomorrow we can vote for you too. We know you reach house. So you need to calm down. Or don't you want to climb in your political space in the future? 😁
