France is advancing plans to deploy a robot army by 2040, with initial ground robotic systems expected to support its forces as early as 2027.

General Bruno Baratz, commander of future combat programs for the French Army, announced that the country aims to have "evolved systems with practical utility" ready for deployment well ahead of the 2040 target.

Interesting... It will help prevent the death of human soldiers in times of war!

My concern is what these massive could be capable of...

With symmetric warfare, I don't think robot army is necessary. I can only imagine for police or internal security though.

You guys will be comparing yourself to developed nations, yet when people tell you what them developed nations did to be developed, you will start complaining and deflecting.

Even the boreholes we dig, the truth is, we could pipe water to every house in Nigeria, but the maintenance cost...paid in form of monthly water bills...you guys will start screaming poverty. Boreholes are far cheaper to build and maintain..lol.

As for why we don't have robot army...at independence, instead of focusing on building an industrial economy, we tried to build a society based on revenue from cash crops, minerals, and oil...whose prices we do not control...meaning that revenue has always been unstable, and we are chronically broke and taking loans, and fighting over who is best leader based on tribe (all our leaders are bad).

And we always blame corruption (partly true, but not the whole story) or the WHITES or IMF for our underdevelopment.

When you guys are ready to vote in leaders who will use our resources to build stuff...that we can export for cash, that is when we go see development.

(Don;t compare us to Saudi and UAE. The day the oil runs out in those countries, we go know what's up)

I doubt we would see a robot army yet...the tech is not fully ready.

Also the image used above are Stormtroopers from Star wars...who are actually human dressed in powersuits. Star wars does have robot armies though (as seen in the second prequel movie)

For three major reasons:
1. It will cost them a lot of money
2. The world will unite against them and deal with them ruthlessly
3. If you are building robots, you don't know what other countries are building. In fact, there are reports that the US military technology is about 10 years ahead of today's technology. The US dominates almost everything, but little or nothing is known of their military might because they are keeping it a secret.

and what would Nigeria have by then?

While Nigerians cheer online typing “wow” and arguing about which world power has strongest military.

It’s not too late to wake up. By 2050 $1USD = 10k+ after oil eventually loses its western appeal and usefulness (if we don’t start innovating and producing).

Revenue from Nigeria's oil cannot feed a nation of 100 million, talkless of 200 million people...which is why APC is running us badly...they haven't diversifed our economy at all.

Saudi and UAE produce more oil than we do, and have about 40 million and 14 million people respectively. Saudi produces ten times as much oil as we do, which is why they can live the good life. Same for UAE...three times our own.

If we want good leader, we have to vote the leader that would make us use our resources to make stuff the world needs. That is what makes a first world, advanced nation. Not living large on oyel that can run out tomorrow.
