Lie lie.. Nigeria made carbonated drinks are exported to Europe on a daily basis without issues...
Keep trying to demarket ur nation .
Companies think Globally but act locally. Mandatory use of local raw materials and only source for materials that can't be produced locally. It doesn't make locally made goods inferior
Oga try dey research before accusing someone. I researched too and found it to be 100% true. Use Google it's not going to finish ur internet

I don't think you get my message clearly? I just back up the points of the person I quoted. He said drinks or food are processed with the level of our taste level in each country.

Pepsi produced for Nigerians may have different sweet taste compare to pepsi produced for Kenyans. Hence i sighted my madam coursemate from Liberia that always complained our malts are not sweet enough.

I hope you get my message now?

100% lies. Which country will allow you bring in goods that will interfere with the ones in their markets? They will be sizes at the airport if he landed with them. If he intended to ship them in, did he get an import licence? If he got a licence and paid all the import duties on the goods, there's no way he can sell it cheaper than market value. You think it's easy to take a mega cooperation to court? Those that successfully did had solid cases and the funds to follow through. The story is pure fiction

I entered a mall in Toronto to.buy coke and the amount will amaze you. Two dollar and forty nine cent ($2.49).

Using the price of 50cl Coke in Canada versus Nigerian which is about Four Hundred naira (N400), I am suspecting that the ingredients are different combination. It means the Coke sold in Nigeria malls and shop are adultereted or of less ingredients.

I have attached the receipt of the Coke for verification in case you doubt..
And this person will claim to have some sort of education? Just see the analysis and conclusion and you'll see why people vote for useless leaders in Nigeria. Just follow the thought process and will definitely hit your hand on your head as to how this person even made it to canada. Anyway no interviews so it's understandable.

Actually, his logic is wrong. Why don't you compare the cost of buying a car in Nigeria vs Canada and see if that logic still holds.

The quality standard is lowered in Nigeria apparently due to economic realities. In Africa here Fanta bought in Johannesburg tastes different to the one bought in Nigeria. The Fanta is Johannesburg has a pure orange flavor compared to the one in Nigeria.
Some years back a man sued Nigerian bottling company because he packaged Fanta and shipped it in UK and on testing it, the package was rejected, because they said it contained higher than normal levels of sodium benzoate. When he confronted NBC they queried him that why didn't he inform them that he was shipping it outside Nigeria.

Did you truly ask out of ignorance or sarcasm because one would expect you to understand the price is influenced by a mix of economic and market factors like purchasing power & local economy. While 400 naira may seem cheap in Canadian dollars, it’s still relatively expensive for many Nigerians. Secondly, production & Sourcing of raw materials. Coca-Cola is usually produced locally in most countries. In Nigeria, for instance, it's manufactured using locally sourced ingredients, which helps keep costs down. Taxes & Regulations is another factor. Canada has higher taxes, environmental levies, and labor costs, which can make products more expensive, as well as marketing & Distribution Strategy. So it’s not about poor quality—it’s more about adapting to the realities of each local market. It's also cheaper in Thailand and China and they have quality control! It's more about how global companies price their products differently based on local market conditions. While the quality may be lowered a little in Nigeria, it's not enough to cover the gap in price of those other factors are not considered

Did you factor in overhead and cost of doing business?
Pension, 401k, rent, salaries, etc.
Business in Canada is not just about "buy and sell"

Read what I wrote again slowly, did I say Coke is more expensive in Nigeria?

maasoap:
How is it more expensive here? Our daily wage here is like 5,000 naira. Their daily wage is is like 10 dollars x 8 = 80 dollars.
What is percentage of N400 of N5,000 and what is percentage of 2.49 dollars of 80 dollars?

Its not a breaking News to some, naija coke and foreign coke aint the same quality

i have drank imported pepsi and i know its much better to the colouring and sugar we are served here

But it more of standard control than pricing sef, businesses are to maximize profit and there is no quality control they take advantage and exploit

Humans are mad generally but the only thing that demacate a sane climes is active system and sanction on standby

What a senseless comparison made by an obviously educated illiterate Nigerian who reside in Canada, start by converting the Nigerian Civil servants minimum wage to dollars and see how gullible your comparisons are.

Stop talking nonsense. 2 units of their currency. So why are they not earning 250,000 units of their currency monthly?

The price of that should be benchmarked against the average salary there.
Does it not tell you things are cheap there that you don't need to earn 250000 units to survive

And Who even told you pple don't even earn 250000 units as monthly salary there.

That same smallest coke was 50 naira not too long, check Canada the price never change in that same time frame, if it did not more that 5-10%.

Re: Price Of 50cl Coke In Canada Vs Nigeria by Port8080: 8:39am On May 18, 2025
The price difference has nothing to do with the ingredients. Coca-Cola content is same everywhere.
Coca-Cola is cheaper in Nigeria because the company adapts to the local economy, labor is cheaper, regulations are lighter, and the purchasing power is lower. In contrast, Canada’s higher wages, taxes, and regulatory standards drive prices up.
