As at Saturday May 17th, 2025, we cannot believe that in this present Nigeria there is a road as this bad, we made to understand that it is a Federal road, but Osun state Government, under the leadership of Senator Ademola Adeleke why can’t you do something as other States do?

Either repair it and task Federal Government Or call on FG for immediate action.

The question we never stopped asking “why is it that the worst road situation is the ones traced down to roads leading to the state capital, Osogbo Osun state from Oyo state?” what is happening?


Right from the former Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, Ex- Governor Gboyega Oyetola and to the incumbent Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke as the Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan Highway needs urgent attention….

When will Governor Adeleke come to the rescue of the users of this highway? Passengers and motorists are waiting.

State Government’s reaction

The Spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed while responding to questions on the situation of the road, said the Governor will still use the existing contractor awarded the contract by former Governor Oyetola.

The contractor was said to have been paid mobilization fee by the ex- governor.

He added that the contractor have been remobilized to the site for the completion of Osogbo-Iwo Road. This includes Iwo Township roads in which mapping and costing of properties in the right of way will give way, have almost been completed for the takeoff of the project.

They say coastal highway is the way forward. God. Te osun gov is happy to highlight the shortcomings of an APC obssessed with a mega highway. Its justpart of politics for him. Even the Osun dancing man is doing his own mini-mega highways. Atlanta standard.

This is Aba and Benin.

This type of road can never be found in our obodo oyinbo region of Nigeria.

The road which is 91K was jointly awarded by the government of Seyi Makinde and the former Govornor. Oyetola. Oyo would do their side of 35KM and Osun too would do their side too.

Oyo is still on going despite running behind schedule with a January 2025 update. So I dont know if Osun isnt doing theirs and had abadoned it. Wè dont know as if now .

P.S The road is an FG road

and pictures of the Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo Road rehabilitation project, a collaborative effort between the Oyo and Osun State Governments, is steadily progressing towards reducing travel time between the two States to less than 50 minutes. The project spans a total length of 91 km, with Oyo State handling the reconstruction of 35.53 km of the road divided into three sections:

Section 1: Iwo Road interchange to Olodo Bridge (7.7 km)
Section 2: Dualisation of Olodo Bridge to Ogunmakarun Junction (500 m)
Section 3: Ogunmakarun Junction to Odo Oba (27.33 km)
The project was flagged off on 27 October 2022 by Governor Seyi Makinde and the then Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, in Osogbo. The Oyo State section was awarded to Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Ltd.

Presently:

Section 1: Significant progress has been made on the Iwo Road interchange to Olodo Bridge stretch. Work is still ongoing, and the contractor is currently working on the road after the Olodo Bridge before the Infectious Disease Centre
Olodo Bridge Dualisation: The first phase of the two-span Olodo Bridge construction is complete, and work has resumed on the second phase with a scheduled completion in Q2 2025.
Traffic Congestion Relief: Upon completion, the dualisation at Olodo Bridge will address congestion issues at the Olodo axis.
The Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo Road project is running behind schedule, but when complete, will fit into the goals of Omituntun 2.0 to enhance connectivity and improve the economic activities between Oyo and Osun States.

If you are not dancing with your thoughts. won't you be asking why ebilokan is borrowing money for the coastal road instead of repairing roads like this that are everywhere in the country?

That road has been in that state even before Obasanjo b3came the democratically el3cted President.

That will always be the sad story until we begin to get better leaders into positions. OP, you must have voted for the wrong persons in the last elections. Continue on your bad road? Why did Aregbesola and Oyetola not fix the road. Why lay the blame on Adeleke?

While I am not holding brief for Adeleke, looking at the images, one can easily say that the road had long been damaged. By the way, where are the members of the NASS from those affected areas? You can keep posting images to Umahi. Perhaps he will take a look one day.

Government are leaving the road as if their are not passing that road, it will be there because it part of they campaign promises now.

They are all on social media claiming Lagos. Where they don't owe one square inch and insulting those who pay tax in lagos. Whereas this is where they come from.

That's our old Osogbo road and it is one way road that can be easily rebuild if govt serious about it.

They want to be created as a new state

Helinues and yarimo , this is not anambra or Imo state , this is Tinubu home state, Osun state. No wonder Tinubu cousin gboyega oyetola was booted out as Osun state governor .

Now that this place has been brought to governor adeleke's attention, the area will soon receive a face lift.

But seriously military administrations really did us bad. Imagine just layering laterite and adding a thin coating of asphalt on top and calling it road. All over the country that's what they did.

I may not like Tinubu but his selection of Dave Umahi is an excellent choice. The quality of road construction projects Umahi is embarking on will stand out for decades.
