anonimi:But there was an agreement between Osun and Oyo state government in 2022 to fix the road, work presently going on at Oyo State section, what is stopping Osun? Adeleke government didn't even tag it federal road from the report, but agreed that mobilisation fees had been paid by his predecessor and that work will continue in earnest. |

Honbright:It's because they have alternative route to Oshogbo that's why this road is so abandoned. In the last days of Oyetola, he and Makinde wanted to do the road, Oyetola will do Osun part, while Makind do Oyo part..... But I guess the change of government in Osun has stopped the project. A large part of that area has also been without electricity for more than 10 years , people In that axis really dey hear am |

This road is the shortest to Osogbo from Ibadan but due to its bad condition, motorists have to go through the Ìfẹ́ express road and make a detour at Gbongan to the Ode omu/Osogbo road. In 2016, I unknowingly passed through this Ibadan/Iwo/Osogbo road not knowing it's been abandoned by motorists, after passing Iwo, I realised that I am the only one on the road as I hardly encounter any other vehicle and this made me filled with fear of being kidnapped till I got to Osogbo. This is a road I had passed through a decade earlier but oblivious the road has decayed to the point motorists have to abandon plying it completely. |

TheChameleon:Comments like yours make me wonder how the brains of some people function differently. It amazes me, really. I mean, the bad state of the road, as stated by the person you quoted, suggested that the bad road could harbor insecurity, especially when it’s dark, and your brain, amazingly but foolishly, interpreted it as hate speech towards your ‘overzealous’ tribal leaders. Are you not finding it funny too? I doubt if you would, though. |

This one of the fundamental problems of nigeria Why should a road be tag as federal road, a road in a state Let each state have control on all roads in her domain, if they seek help of funds for repairs or construction, there should be a special they can access for such Look at all the bad federal roads all over nigeria still the blood sucker in aso rock wants to do coastal road Nigeria is finished |

Honbright:I have never understood the rationality of a state government calling a road passing through your state territory "A FEDERAL ROAD." The road passes through your state! The road provides a gateway/exit to and from your state! The people of your state are the ones that mostly use the road! Fix it because of the security and safety of your own people. It is not rocket science! Then what do I know. The governor probably has more pressing issues on his plate such as dancing and singing . |

happney65:Thanks for the analysis. Now if this is a FG road why are we spending money on coastal highway to nowhere ? The priority would be to make every FG road tarred with solar lights where necessary , drainage gutters . This is 2025 ! |

Goosethetruth:It’s all about jurisdiction. If it’s been designated a FG road, it was built by the FG and it is upon them to maintain the road. All FG roads should be documented somewhere with maintenance date and repair date listed. The road as I see it doesn’t look like it’s seen a single bucket of asphalt. You can’t expect the State government to do what is designated Federal . Every state has its budget. And if you are spending billions on the road and don’t pay your civil servants , or maintain your state roads- miss-allocation of funds. again I ask - why is the coastal highway that urgent when we have projects like this all across the country ? |

Ife express road is no longer a good road. It is, in fact, worse than Ibadan to Osogbo road and many motorists going to Osogbo now use the Ibadan to Osogbo road. gabbasin: |
