Banks are mightily stealing from customers these days. It better to bury your money somewhere now to avoid the rogues in suits and ties.

As for me and my family, we shall stick with opay
Please enlighten me. Is Opay any different from local banks?
Don’t they charge for sms alerts, card maintenance and 50naira transfer fee?

nope none of those charges.

Just as how commercial bank is, but the only difference is that dey don't steal from you like the access bank and the rest
Re: Bank Charges: More Families Return To Thrift Savings by Bankowner: 6:33pm On May 19, 2025
I asked my bank to stop sms alerts on my account because of the increase in alert charges. It's not because I cannot afford it, but it's simply insane to pay for a service that is of no benefit to me while the bank declares trillions in profit. Imagine the charges on one single deposit, first #50 on cash or transfer deposited, #6 alert, charges when you make transfer from the same deposit to another bank, alert on that transfer, talk less of VAT........so annoying.

cool access bank is the worst when it comes to unnecessary deduction.
If you leave 50k in access bank for six months..
They take everything in charges ..

Crazy bank
Access Bank, Stanbic charges are a child's play where Zenith Bank is. If you try Zenith Bank, you hair go turn dada. I am on minus right now, because I stopped depositing, so they have deducted so tay the account is on minus 265 naira and counting.

They have advised me to update sometime ago, claiming it is an old account, I ignored them, maybe this is the resultant effect. Account that I opened in 1999. Though I have finally abandoned it, because I have other accounts to run my business and projects.

Between opay and moniepoint which is better, I want to open either of them for only daily transfers. This new transfer charges and tax is becoming annoying for those of us doing multiple transfer daily?
