Truth is that some Nigerians too dey carry this English matter on their head which reeks of inferiority complex. Would a Chinese or Japanese or Indian throw a challenge to a British on who speaks more fluent English? Would a British challenge a native indigene/speaker of a Nigerian language (like ibibio) that they speak better than the Nigerian native?

Speaking is different from writing.

Ifedayo should never have included that clause or carried on with the test since they both couldn’t agree on four of the tests. He lost gallantly if you asked me but then the world doesn’t recognized second best.

Why were they tested only on 2 modules? I reason that they were tested only on the Speaking and Listening modules. What happened to the other 2? It has to be complete; Writing and Reading are equally important modules.

The challenge though unnecessary proves nothing .
Who were the jurists and which criteria was used ? And using random people to represent both Nations does not in anyway make such statistic right.

The negativity in many of the responses here speaks loud – and proved that an average Nigerian rejoices on other people's misfortune. They can't even comprehend that the challenger wasn't doing it for himself.

Most of una no too get sense or haven't written IELTS/DUO Lingo/other English tests before. The challenger listed the 4 criteria of the testing but explained they only followed through with 2, where a native speaker will have more strength. I guess that will be Speaking and Listening. They already set him up and he still did wonderfully well 83/79.
What you foolish Nigerians don't realise is that these white people are also scammers. And they formalise their scams make it very legit and official but eventually all na still scam but because of the failure of our own states down here, we find it difficult to call them to order.
Most Nigerians don't even have good common sense. Almost everything about them has been bastardised.

They are proving a point – an average Nigerian derives pleasure in other people's misfortune.

As little as the challenge is, the challenger has passed a very important message that can benefit the entire country.

I must commend this my nija brother for the challenge and he did excellently well just 4 points miss.that guy tried very well. Make the oyibo guy come write pingi English exam weda e go pass. English is not our language but he got 79 point . Congratulations to that guy.
