Nigerians are too full of themselves, and this explains it. Dem show you shege now, caption don change. The Briton was on his own o when this jester said he would defeat him. I mean, there are better ways to convey your response to an offensive post. This dude probably studied English to a Master's level, and he thinks that's enough to challenge a native Englishman? Why not have a contest between a British illiterate and a Nigerian illiterate. That's a fair game. 😭 That's how you people will be boasting about how Ijaws are better swimmers than Australian divers/swimmers. Same way you people always have a better and faster runner in your village and community grammar school than Usain Bolt. 🤣 If not for the internet, many of you would think that Obi Cubana is the richest man in the world. 😭😂 By the way, this is the true caption. Nairaland and faux/fake captions and news! 👇👇

jmoore:One brought the termination of dependant visa with his wa wa wa mouth. One engineered the recent white paper with her cohorts which made the ruling party propose a 10years route to residency. And now, one has gone to do cho cho cho on English proficiency because he graduated from University of Derby. You people will not leave English people and their system. They never forced us to come to the UK, please. |

Luckysbab:I'm very sure even you would have overlooked it and moved on with your life. But he just wanted to show himself. Besides, he promised to return to Nigeria should he lose. He must honour that promise! |

AirBere:Can you show where you were asked to explain? 1. was he trying to prove that he can speak english or he was trying to prove that nigerians can speak english? 2. What has talking too much got to do with being a nigerian? 3. the british man that said nigerians can barely speak english, was he talking too little? |

Front0lane:Don't mind the werey.. Plus the funny thing about werey people like this is that.... they always seem to forget the essence of language... Understanding and communication is all there is to any language. Even if you can speak all the English in the world and no one can understand you, you're not communicating and maybe you'll "develop sense" when you die of thirst because no one understands you're asking for a drink. Even the mute have their own language, animals too... Communicating is all there is to it all... Awón òní yéyé |

Acidosis:What is the shege there, someone is trying to discredit Nigerian medical practitioners and someone rose up to defend his people and did marvelously well and all you can say is bad mouth him. Na Kemi Badenoch fit this country I swear. |

He asked that they be tested in 4 domains of speaking, writing, listening and reading. He added that if the white guy wins he would leave England reading but they only did 2 out of it.... So Bro remains in England... Even at the two tests they did, Mr Englishman managed to win just with 4 points. Naija man tried! |

festacman:Oga u were taught English language in school bah, this is to widen Ur knowledge in English language. The Nigerian dude was taught English language in school since his nursery,.same for other Africans. Unlike Britons who owned English! If it was a Spanish or French man now I for dey hear, but not a Briton! The British colonized literally all countries so wetin u dey talk? Were you expecting the Nigerian dude to have won the Briton before? I'm even surprised the Nigerian scored this high! |

festacman:Did you read where the article say the test was divided into four parts and the Nigerian excelled in just 2 ? That's to say the score was a generous one. |
| Re: Briton Wins English Proficiency Challenge Against Nigerian by festacman(m): 12:16pm On May 20, 2025 |
uniquetechng:You are the one who need to read the post again because the test was done based only on two out of four parts. |
| Re: Briton Wins English Proficiency Challenge Against Nigerian by festacman(m): 12:20pm On May 20, 2025 |
G0odharddick:Dude, both the Nigerian and the Briton were taught English language in school. Spoken English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa or Swahili is different from the formal written form. Ok? |
| Re: Briton Wins English Proficiency Challenge Against Nigerian by ElSudani: 12:28pm On May 20, 2025 |
At 4 points difference both of them are at the same level of proficiency. Meaning it is not true that Nigerians can barely speak English, maybe some but then English is not our language. |
| Re: Briton Wins English Proficiency Challenge Against Nigerian by Nauttyprof(m): 12:32pm On May 20, 2025 |
LeopardX:If he had won, I am sure you won't type this. Nigeria and inferiority complex. I really don't understand how you could elevate someone who claims the English Language is his own language and yet scored 83. Just 4 points more, when he could have done better. Do I need to practice my native language before a challenge if I truly speak that language? We are still not free from mental slavery. It's sad. |
| Re: Briton Wins English Proficiency Challenge Against Nigerian by Nauttyprof(m): 12:34pm On May 20, 2025 |
inoki247:Since wey dem don born am and he scored 83. That's shameful. 4 points above someone whom you downgraded. It's a big shame and nothing to celebrate but people like you with inferiority complex won't see this. |

Nauttyprof:See what why will I be dragging with someone else with his or her mother tongue.. |
| Re: Briton Wins English Proficiency Challenge Against Nigerian by Nauttyprof(m): 2:21pm On May 20, 2025 |
inoki247:There is a need to prove a point that you know the language too. It's obvious from the contest that even the native speaker is not any better than the Nigerian. |
| Re: Briton Wins English Proficiency Challenge Against Nigerian by LeopardX: 4:01pm On May 20, 2025 |
Nauttyprof:mental slavery una. He made a promise that should he lose, he'd return to Nigeria. He lost! |
| Re: Briton Wins English Proficiency Challenge Against Nigerian by Acidosis(m): 8:01pm On May 20, 2025 |
lexikul:Challenging a British nonentity to a language test on Twitter is how you want to defend Nigerian medical practitioners abroad? Una too funny for this country. You no see Abike Dabiri or the CIA political touts with drug issues oversea? |

| Re: Briton Wins English Proficiency Challenge Against Nigerian by Nauttyprof(m): 9:14pm On May 20, 2025 |
LeopardX:Your comment just confirms the mental slavery because this comment is quite different from your previous comment and my response was based on your previous comment. Why are you shifting post when my response shows how obvious your mental slavery is. |

Which ever way you want it... We have tried enough speaking and writing another man's language and being caricatured for that... How many times do you laugh or make mockery of someone trying to speak your language and dialect...? I am sure you hardly ever do that... blowjohn: |

ElSudani:it is foolish to challenge someone in his own language. Anyway, my job entails speaking with Oyibo all day long…..and I often encounter those who would not let me attend to them…..because I have an accent. Unfortunately, due to my good upbringing I can’t tell them my mind. If I were allowed to tell them my mind, I would remind them that I am better than them by far. I conquered my own language (which they would never conquer) now I am speaking and interacting with them in their own language. If they feel so great, let them try learning my language let me see if they will learn it…..talk more of speaking it with an accent |
