definitely a 10, I miss the period of the mid 80s to late 90s that formed my formative years, the music, movies...etc, life was just peaceful then, all the street football etc...

I had a disciplined childhood. It has helped me a lot while it has it's side effects. But in all, I give thanks to GOD for everything.

That's the reason I'm striving to balance discipline and freedom in bringing up my kids.

I rate mine 9/10. In the elementary school in those days, there was nothing sweeter than pouring a cup of garri into your pocket, with one or two cubes of sugar. During the break time, you would be working around like Dangote, with a hand in your pocket. While bigger boys follow you around like bodyguards, to protect you, the garri and their own interests. That same day, you will gain new friends and also make new enemies.

I enjoyed my childhood even when i was always cage at home. But i still played alot inside my room with toys and anything i could lay my hands on.
When i eventually moved to junior secondary boarding house, i almost killed myself with play. We even played football at nite with street lights!

I can only reminisce those days in my village growing up. To those of you "modernists", you may have a different meaning to "good life" but I can assure you I enjoyed my childhood those days in the village. It was more fun than the chaotic lives people live nowadays. Even children rarely enjoy childhood nowadays!

I would say a 2. I didn't get enough books to read. The local library was not well stocked and closed much of the time. There were no computers and not a lot of mental stimulation for a child interested in accumulating knowledge back then. I had a lot of questions, but there were not a lot of answers to satiate my desires, and that dogged me through my childhood. I also struggled with anhedonia from as far back as I could remember, so I didn't find pleasure and fun in a lot of activities. But I did my best to play the usual children's games with the other kids, so I wouldn't look so out of place. undecided

I'd rate a 9. My childhood days were some of my best: genuine friends, pure and youthful exuberance, funfilled education and plenty jolliment without having to worry about money. The missing 1 mark is that i didn't get to study abroad which was my childhood dream.
