WhatIf:
Kehinde father simply killed his son, there is no other way to it.
(1) Why is he driving against the traffic?
(2) Why didn't he stopped, when he was blocked by the traffic police?
(3) Why is driving like a kidnapper?

We are in Nigeria, if you see the video footage from the Traffic police as posted to Facebook, you will know the driver is having a skeleton in his cupboard.

May the soul of Kehinde rest in peace.
The father set the platform for his son to be slaughtered and the police officer finished the job. Both should be sentenced.

1. The police say it was a traffic management operation.
How do you enforce traffic with arms and ammunition? What business does the police have with helping a state government outfit to enforce traffic? Armed police for that matter.
This is a very childish comment.

How do you want to try and shoot at a tyre and shot someone at the back seat?

Nigerian police are not weapon trained to attempt that kinda shot. Even oyinbos won't do that, instead they'll lay traps. No be today we dey watch car chases.

It seems to be inborn in you people to defend bad govt and her oppressive agents

How did you quickly conclude the man has bad character and was driving recklessly?

Because the police, an unreliable entity, said so in her desperate bid to defend herself, as usual??
Did you do your own investigation?
Have you watch the video footage?

Imagine driving this reckless with your child/children inside the car. What a horrible father! He and the police officer murdered the young boy. Both should be sentenced with hard labour.

Well thanks for your response, King Charles the third.

1. The police say it was a traffic management operation.
How do you enforce traffic with arms and ammunition? What business does the police have with helping a state government outfit to enforce traffic? Armed police for that matter.

2. The police said they put up road blocks to stop the fleeing vehicle.
If there is traffic you are enforcing, which space did the driver get to drive against? If the police have room to set up barricades then there was no traffic impedance in the first place. So why where they there?

3. The police said the officer shot against tires.
How poorly trained was the officer that a shot against tires trained that he hit a passenger?

4. Since when did shooting at vehicles become an acceptable means of stopping a vehicle that wasn't posing harm to anyone?

The police statement is just cock womble.
Did you say "the car wasn't endangering anybody"? Don't be a typical Nigerian. What is wrong is wrong there is no excuse for it. I ask you, is driving on one way, against traffic lawful? I have lost a child, because of one way driving, one idiot mini bus driver in mainland Lagos knocked over my pregnant wife, because he was speeding on one way( in the wrong lane) in a dual carriage way. My wife didn't even bother to look the other way because cars were not supposed to be coming from that direction. It is a miracle that my wife survived the accident, but my unborn child did not. The blame for this incident is squarely the fault of the deceased child's irresponsible father. What kind of example was he setting for the late secondary school kid by violating road traffic, and then so recklessly resisting arrest from law enforcement officials for a crime he knows he committed, with his child in the car? Abeg we should be objective in our assessment of the situation and not use sentiments.

I don't understand 2 things...

Why was the driver running from a search?
Are the police officers not trained to aim and shoot accurately?
How will the family of the victim be compensated
Hope the driver will rot away in jail and the police whose fire arm killed the victim, hope he will go to rehab after being released for voluntary man slaughter??

This is one of the reasons why it's important to have an accurate database of every vehicle in the country...

How i wish this was the case... No need to chase the fool or shoot after him... Na to go block am or alert other police officers in the area to look out for the idiot....
May the soul of the dead rest in peace..

It's sad to know that incidents like these could have been avoided...
May God heal Nigeria..
Alot is going on that is beyond human comprehension and solution
I think they can do that even under the current system. We need a rule that makes it clear to our police that you can't shoot at anyone or anything UNLESS YOU'RE BEING SHOT AT OR SOMEONE IS BEING SHOT AT and so lives are in danger. As long as this is not done, these incidents will continue.

I've watched all the videos already
What in them justified the use of a live bullet?
The direction of the police's vehicle in the video even shows they were never part of the chase and, hence, didn't have more information on what was going on.
The chase was being done by the traffic guys, and it seems the police were going elsewhere
They just saw a car being chased by the traffic guys and opened fire waaaa

They should have just simply taken down the liscence plate and they will get all the information needed about the vehicle. Overzealous officers as if they themselves don't break traffic rules.

The father is to be blamed. He shouldn't have drove against traffic in the first place or at least surrendered when he was caught. Though police too shouldn't have shot the car.

It's far better that 10,000 actually guilty drivers get away than for an innocent to die so needlessly. That shot should never have been fired in the first place, no matter the explanation they are giving here.

Even if your brain is PAINING YOU, does your eyes also have problems?

Its clear from the picture above that the vehicle is moving AGAINST TRAFFIC. Two wrongs don't make a right though. Anybody that wants a protest AT THIS TIME just wants to waste their lives.

RIP to the dead, your father is also PART of those responsible for your death (according to this story)

Not one idiot could perform basic first aid to the dying child and they worsened his catastrophic bleed by moving his body recklessly and blocking his airway and circulation.

Chaotic scene with no clear supervision , lack of proper training and poor decisions contributed to the poor boy’s demise. We really need to do better.

Basic first aid should be mandatory for everyone.

Though the police erred in shooting blindly, the chase should have continued further, but the fault is on the man running...it is suspicious, police might see you as a criminal hiding something or kidnapper.
