At some point in their careers, doctors have offered patients initial free treatment, only for some to disappear afterward. I understand her emotional outburst, but I'm certain the clinic did their best to save the man. Unfortunately, their best wasn’t enough.

I think it’s right time for every family to have one or two family member in medical field, a friend wife labored for 3 days at a clinic owned by his family member, she gave birth the 3rd night with no complications.
The stubborn boy thought he was coming to the world to tap palm wine, he wrapped his hand, leg and neck with the umbilical cord thereby making it difficult for the strong woman to push him out.
I’m very sure most hospitals even abroad would deliver the baby through CS…They didn’t give up on the pregnant woman because she was their family so they put in more than their best to make sure the woman gave birth without any complications..
Which Yeye abroad.

Babies are delivered with cord around the neck everytime here in Lagos-go and confirm.

It is even too late to go in for c.s at that point in time so you guy should stop talking about what you don't know.

My brother...her case is very relatable...I've had similar experience...tho thank God it didn't result to death...some of these so called professionals are so mean and wicked without an aorta of empathy...especially the ones in Federal and State Hospitals
SoftSport:
While her pain is valid and heartbreaking let’s remember we don’t know the full story so we should avoid emotional outbursts and stop casting blame on an entire noble profession based on one incident.

With all due respect...what you're saying is a complete crap...how does beingheartless, nonchalant and mean make one a better doctor or nurse?...they're some cases of critical emergencies that timely intervention could help safe the person's life...so are you insinuating that all the best medical experts in the world are heartless, mean and nonchalant even at the expense of people's life?...just listen to yourself...do you even know the meaning of heartless?...Rather...good Doctors are brave, courageous, tireless, swift in doing all they can to save lifes

I think the best doctors have no soul. They are dead emotionally
To look at someone fading into the shadow realm and still act non chalant is something i have personally seen nurses do.

A guy driving keke brought his mother in hospital. His sister was at the back crying telling her mother to wake up. The nurses where just there laughing and some cracked joke as how the guys cry was sounding funny.

I was shook to the bone.
But i realized these medical workers see death, pain, suffering and diseases regularly so that emotional side of them is completely erroded.

In a private or government hospital?

Was it a private hospital or government hospital?
Cashio:
So, for like 3 years now, I've been suffering from this frequent nasal congestion that even inhalers could not take care of unless I used nasal drops. I thought maybe it was a disease or an infection or something like that without knowing that it was actually as a result AC usage.
So, few months ago, it got a little worse and I went to the hospital and the doctor just pointed a Torchlight inside my nose and instantly said I had sinusitis which had gotten worse due to excessive usage of nasal drops and now, the only permanent cure to it is to undergo a nasal surgery which might cost at least 480k.
After the consultation, he gave me some drugs to just help but insisted on the surgery and so I left and went into pondering on whether to do the surgery or not considering the possibility of complications afterwards
Somehow, due to the increased cost of electricity tariffs this period, I stopped using AC and bought rechargeable fans instead to reduce cost. Guess what guys? My nasal blockages completely went away on its own and it was then that I realized it was actually AC that was causing me that.
Imagine if I had gone for the surgery, imagine the wrong diagnosis, imagine if the surgery had gone wrong, imagine the amount of money I would have wasted going for nasal surgery. This is what a wrong medical practice could cause.
Our medical practitioners need to do better.

Being heartless isn't the right term but being emotionally stable. A heartless person in the medical field that's supposedly trained to save lives won't fulfill the objectives of the calling but will do otherwise. Doctors are better when they care about saving first no matter the condition or circumstances that is before them and that has nothing to do with heartlessness but some empathy, unusually strong desire to help others and emotional stability. Those heartless nurses U see are nothing but useless, a lot of them had to even cut corners to be there so they're not completely grounded in the profession. How can a professional be laughing in the midst of a patient dying while the family is crying for help? And U think it's okay because they see death regularly? So it means the police should start killing any suspects because they see criminals regularly? Ur last paragraph no clear at all

The point is that you guys do not know what happened. This lady right here may even just be catching cruise without having access to all the information. The person affected is in mourning, yet the "concerned 3rd party" is ranting online. I've seen situations where doctors and nurses heroically try to save a patient and are unsuccessful, the immediate relatives of the deceased will even tell the doctors and nurses thank you for your efforts, but the "concerned 3rd parties" will still go and start trying to make trouble, or even go online to use the situation to farm engagements.
It's the same thing we do to the police. I've been stopped several times without any incidents, in short less than 10% of my encounters with them usually last more than a minute without any money exchanging hands. Are there bad eggs? Of course. But that doesn't mean we have to paint a whole industry dark just because of a few sorry occurrences

Are they the only ones that see death, pain, suffering etc?
All over the world, the medical practitioners see these things but still chose to be kind but here in Nigeria, these guys that call themselves doctors and nurses are different, they are just lazy and extremely wicked

Are engineers not doing wack jobs ?

How many of the structures in nigeria built last upto 10yrs
Especially government building

And what excuse are u even talking about

My point is most of the things ppl called negligence by doctors can't even be proven in court

Cos it's bound in ignorance and emotions

Thr doctors and nurses weren't iniiatilly like that.

However, they had to develop a dead skin to cope with the dreadful realities of their profession or the harsh Nigerian environment.

So the western doctor shows care and compassion are not doctors.
Honestly the way most African reason is just dark and terrible.
These same Nigerian nurses and doctors don't misbehave in a western country because the law will deal with them decisively..

Rebuker:
A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to criticize Nigerian doctors and nurses, accusing them of negligence and a lack of empathy which she claims led to the death of her sister's husband.

In an emotional video, she said:

“Nigerian doctors, Nigerian nurses, you people can do better. It’s not fair. If you’re tired of the profession, please resign—just resign.
They brought someone to you for treatment, someone under your care, but because of your nonchalant attitude, you ended up killing my sister’s husband.
You’ve succeeded in making her a widow.
I don’t understand—if you’re tired of being a doctor or a nurse, resign so we can know who the real professionals are among you.

I really don’t understand how you can look at someone with a lifeless body and still show no sympathy—not for the person, not for the family. Instead, you talk to them anyhow. What is going on?
You're just after the money—we know. We know you're after the money. But still, you can do better.”

The video sparked emotional reactions from viewers, with many sharing their own heartbreaking experiences with healthcare professionals.

Watch the video and share your thoughts.

The issue is 90% of nigerians have no idea hw the medical profession work

What is part of professional protocol looks like some kinda negligence to them

Medical negligence is more of a subjective term

Mostly it's bound in ignorance

Doctors are stretch overworked and underpaid working long long hours yet the society have the guts to insult or accuse them of being insensitive
What an irony, Iam in the hospital now with my wife, couldn't have expected this while typing a reply yesterday

Eat well
Exercise often
Avoid certain food.
Avoid unprotected sex.

Cos Nigerian hospital is not a place to be..
Because of our corrupt system the medical sector is a complete mess

She's part of the problem. If the husband died because of negligence by the doctors and nurses ... then she should take them to court. If more people do this...only then we would see a change. Until such time ....business as usual. Just wondering why is she soooo shook and the one to bring it to SM.... to me that's not normal.
Exactly my point
But the funny thing is that if she took them to court u will find out that war she was ranting about isn't entirely true and that they can't prove in court that it was really negligence

I think it's always good to research and see how the medical profession and clinical management works
Then u can be well informed and can identify any misconduct when or if it occurs cos most ppl crying foul on social media are just pained and emotional
No objective prove when they're being confronted

Condolences. The harsh treatment doctors receive at school, teaching hospitals and by govt has made them psychotic. They dont have human sympathy.

When you spend 7 years butchering corpses (something that you could learn in 6 months) , being overworked and unappreciated you tend to see humans as meat.

Nexttime take your loved ones to the native doctor.
