The video was disheartening...police officers and law enforcement can be very frustrating to deal with. I'm sure there are more humane and sane ways for our law enforcement officers to go about their jobs, I mean at the point where a child lay bleeding to death, the police officers were more pre-occupied with getting the man arrested and not saving the life of the kid.

Nigeria is a country of people moving outrightly mad sha, cause there's little or no justification for that man's behavior, but then again, could be a case of burnt fuse at that moment...just so sad seeing innocent kids be victims of the system.

every license plate has the owners name and address. it is straight forward if the goal is not a shakedown

I always stop for them, they will ask for papers which I will provide, they will check it and see everything is complete, then they will ask to see the botoh and when they are done they will wave me to go.

The ones who are out to extort will stop u, size you up and figure out you are most likely not a yahoo boy; then they will ask for "anything for the boys?", "happy weekend sir" , etc

For women it is different; when they stop my spouse, they will just ask her for money straight-up and not even ask her for papers or ask her to to open any booth for search or anything. If she says she doesn't have money they will let her go unlike men that they will whine and whine

That is because in the US almost everyone owns a gun, not here in Nigeria when u see a family man at the wheel with his wife and kinds in the car.

I said I hate one-way with passion. A friend of mine nearly lost his life in 2020 due to a keke following one-way which hit him from behind. He was only lucky he didn't fall immediately he was hit but 3 of his foot were badly injured. Till date I hate one-way and always hope those who follow one-way get arrested.

That being said, I don't support and will never justify shooting at someone simply because he followed one-way

In my opinion, getting a drivers license in Naija is too easy and commuters don’t think about the consequences of poor driving

I was perplexed when i learnt then you could get a drivers license without even showing up for a test if you knew the right people.

Where i live, by the time you spend half a Disstroy luxury vehicle for your license, you’ll think twice before engaging in any skullduggery

They believe in absolute force and that's why u will see SARS, Anti-Cultism, EFCC and other law enforcement using matchet and pick axe to break people's door just on mere suspicion

Drivers license in Nigeria is seen more like another means of Identification and not necessarily a proof that u know how to drive.

You only need to appear for biometric capturing to get a drivers' license, every other step in the process u can use money to sort it.

Maybe if he had accident in process then we can insult him and say justice served

And this further corroborates the point about wealth being relative. Half of #15 million is #7.5 million you'd supposedly spend for a driver's license is more than the annual salary of a Permanent Secretary in Nigeria which is #6.9 million.

But if that Permanent Secretary can afford comfort (I don't know how that's possible with the inflation in 2025) on that salary, she's good.

I'm sure without this video they would've made spurious claims about the full details of the incident.

If u notice, in their press release they claimed "A yet to be identified" corporal fired the shot; but we can all see the man who shot at the vehicle in the video. I believe that was why they didn't share the full video initially but only showed the part the man was driving recklessly to justify their accidental discharge claim
