So Doctors in the state were hitherto earning a paltry #150k? After spending 7-8 years in School? Not to mention the high cost of Training a Medical Doctor!

Governors are not only reducing their debts , they now have more money for projects and to increase salaries of workers. Thanks to Mr President. The Governors have never had it so good in the history of the country, it's like they're in a dreamland. Why is he borrowing money after removing subsidy and reducing fuel imports?

The Federal Government says it has no intention to borrow from any local or foreign organisation with its removal of subsidy on petrol and exchange rate harmonisation.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Chief Wale Edun, revealed this at the end of the inaugural Federal Executive Council meeting on Monday in Abuja.

He said that the benefit of the subsidy removal would be ploughed back into various sectors aimed at boosting government revenue and improving the business environment for local and foreign investment.

Edun said that with the increased revenue from subsidy removal, various palliatives have been made available to cushion its effect on a short, medium and long-term basis.

He reiterated the President Bola Tinubu-led administration’s desire to bring back the economy from the wood it has found itself over time.

I don't get you, as in what has elections got to do with doctors pay?
Anyway I do not know personally of any doctor in ebonyi. Doctors should earn more if not the brain drain will continue as 500k is not enough. You personally can you survive on that amount in 1 month?

150 x 12 = 1.8m ( can buy 2004 corolla in 2020 toks)

500 x 12 = 6m ( can't buy toks 2004 corolla in 2025)

I agree ...but let them japa. By the time they figure it out, their friends may have become a consultant giving guest lectures abroad and collecting both dollars and Naira.

From buying jeeps for doctors only and paying them additional allowance for car maintenance. Now they are increasing their salary alone to such an amount while other healthcare workers remain unimportant. I wonder what sort of advise the governor is receiving.
