fineeyez:Your village is the cheapest place for you to live, because there you have free housing in your ancestral homestead and free (or extremely cheap) land to farm so that food is never a problem |

fineeyez:.100k is not enough for you to relocate.. house rent alone has finished the 100k...not to even talk of costs of transporting yourself to the state you want to relocate to |

[quote author= post=135458418]Do you work remotely or got a job paying in dollars, and now you want to relocate to a place where your money stretches like suya on a hot grill of MANNABBQGRlLLS. Taraba State is one of the most affordable states to live in, with cheap housing, food, and a low cost of living. Also, Kogi, and Bauchi are among the cheapest states. .....and This is official. Kebbi, Jigawa, Kastina, maybe Ekiti and/or Osun, Taraba. These places are significantly cheaper than those places you listed. Generally, life is more expensive in southern Nigeria and any Christian dominated area compared to northern Nigeria and most Muslim dominant cities. P.S. I saw that you mentioned Osun. Fair enough. |

GorillaApp:Any place where oil forms the backbone of the economy gets an inflated cost of living. Eket isn't cheap. Uyo is actually cheaper than Eket, but more expensive than the places OP listed. |

I personally know a retired top naval officer who just retired and built and settled permanently at Calabar, and he is from the middle belt, when I probed on his reasons he said Calabar and Ilorin are Nigeria most peaceful towns to retire to or to raise children, so it's not just about cost of living alone but equally about peace and tranquility for you and your family |

Another thing though, affordability has more to do with securing an almost free accommodation. Accommodation is a major driver of cost of living. So, OP, where can you get a free place to reside without issues? That's where it becomes cheaper to live. |

Ibadan is ok. I lived there from 2017-2020. Just avoid high end areas like oluyole, dugbe and others I can't remember now. Anywhere around bashorun, idi ape, iwo road, gate and others are ok for your budget Karlifate: |

It is going to be a city or town in the North. Or towns in Ondo, Oyo ( apart from Ibadan ) and Ekiti. Cheers. |
