They should fix the roads. Nothing wrong with night driving, it's safer sef, and keeps the road free of tankers during the day. How do these people think sef?

That shows you how clueless your Nigerian government is. They act without weighing the possible consequences. They ban subsidy on petroleum products on the first day in office without thoughtful reasoning. They ban old naira notes without thinking about inflation and its likely effect on the economy. They change National Anthem without thinking through about the chaos it may bring. They advocate for creation of more states without thorough understanding of what it entails and the likely outcome.

It is always from one selfish government to the other. Jonathan even did sonething like that by imposing a ban of imported fishes or something like that. Are we not still importing mackerel, herring and the likes now more than we used to after the ban abi quota system then ?

The roads are less congested at night and free for them. That means less casualties during accidents (which can even happen at anytime).

I’m so disappointed reading comments of people saying night driving is better for the tank drivers.
Sleep deprivation is what is causing majority of the tanker accidents. A driver that doesn’t sleep at night because he was driving all night, the same driver won’t sleep during the day because he is trying to get to his destination before night fall. Not only will such driver be dozing while driving, such driver won’t be able to take good decisions when driving. That’s why majority of the tanker drivers behaves like animal while driving. Sleep deprivation causes alot of problems for drivers.

Isn’t night better for this drivers

May be the reason is to stop the truck drivers from depriving themselves of sleep, which is also a major cause of accidents during the days. I just hope the Enforcers enforce with caution to avoid more disasters.

It is actually safer at night as the roads are free and there are no much vehicles on the road.

Besides, 90% of the tanker accidents that have ever occurred happened in the daytime.

Hmmm ...tankers moving by night when there is less traffic ...less commuters ... are involved in accidents that cause hundreds of lives. So to reduce accidents and deaths.... the thing to do is to allow the 60 000 tankers to move by day... when the roads are jammed with passenger vehicles and pedestrians . Some people need to be stoned.
