But today I still pay him dues indirectly for giving me this opportunity. I did a full 10 panels and installations for less than 500k
umm. Those panel are costly now oh.

solar is the best solution to nepa problems…..we just installed it this February at home and it was the best decision ever grin 6solar panel and 2 batteries with 4kv inverter and this works perfectly well with the fridge, Tv and fan but must be Dc

I will advise anyone who can afford it to go for solar, cost about 1.3m to install and this have save us from cost of running generator.

The generator is only used to run the pumping machine because we didn’t connect it to solar to save the life of the battery.
Re: Benefits Of Using Solar Panels At Home by McLizbae:
Well baba... If you get the money noni sha. Based on establish studies and calculations, installing a solar system at any capacity will save you much more money on the long-term than using a generator as alternative energy.

Sell the tubular batteries and get sealed lead-acid batteries. A good one will give you at least 4-5 years. No emissions too.
Thank you sir...I will work on that.

But it doesn't work like that, it can be better though, the important part of a solar system are the panels, everything else are a waste of resources but maybe that's what we have now. Solar today is inefficient, it's not replaceable to nepa light, yes nepa light is costly and not stable or reliable but we need stop making people believe solar can replace nepa light now because it cant.
1. When there's no sunlight, no power for you, when sunlight is poor, no stable power, when sun is at it's peak, there's limit to what you can power and the duration it can power you appliances.
2. Affordablility, how many familie can afford a solar system that will power the electronics in their house the way nepa light does even if they'll have to use some at a time and others at other times.
3. Efficiency, the panels are mostly doing great work but the charge controllers and the battery is nothing to write home about. Charge battery the whole day and at night, the charge is down and they tell you that you should have reduced load or put it of during the day...
4. Improvement, i thing a good solar generator should be able to produce sufficient power without the battery connected so that the solar generator can produce power during the day while the battery is charging and the batter can take over at night when the sun is no more. My take
And mind you, solar is not environmentally friendly. The batter is destroying the environment. This is a hard truth. The panels are fine but the batteries, no way. To make 1mah battery, a lot of destruction of the environment has happened not to talk more of making batteries in kwh. The resources can not sustain the demands. Goto germany, go to drc, china and see this effects

You would have to ditch a lot of properties for it to serve you.
You need low energy solar friendly freezers, iron and other appliances. China has solutions for everything though.
You would still need to ditch the house appliances that have high energy consumption as long as your house is metered.

How much do I need to install a solar needed to power these.. please experts.
Many considerations. Will your system power these things 24hrs? Battery capacity/use is critical mainly at night. I assume you need lights too. I did 10kva last month and it took just over 7m. I used lithium battery. 12 pieces of 550watts panels, I plan to add another 10kva battery to it soon. I bought 10kva inverter, charge controller, changeover switch, thunder surge, breaker box, etc. Some of these items are optional but i went for a complete system.

In terms of life span, lithium is more superior and can stay up to 10 years with good decent usage
In terms of charging, lithium charges faster and more efficiently,
Lithium requires low maintenance
These are just a few

With all due respect, you are completely wrong with your assumptions about solar alternative energy solution.

If you buy quality battery brands and other solar accessories, you can even go off NEPA grid completely.

There are solar panels that pick charge even when it's raining or when the sun is not shinning.

We also have wind turbines that you can install as alternative when there is heavy rain and breeze, that way, you will never lose any energy.

The only thing you can say is that solar power is not cheap.....but its affordable if you go for your budget size and also use appliances that match that solar capacity knowing how much you bought them.

But unfortunately, Nigerians would want to use 500,000 naira to install solar that will carry their fridge, freezer, iron, water dispenser, ac, home theater, TVs, fans, and some will even want it to also carry their pumping machine. That's madness.

How much is a petrol or diesel generator that can carry such appliances and consider again that you will be buying petrol at 850 naira per liter.....you must consider all these.

Outside Nigeria where there is stable electricity supply, people are installing solar power to cut down their electricity bill...some even install bigger capacity that power everything in their house and still have excess they send back to the grid and get paid for it. A friend in California is currently doing this.

But such capacity of solar doesn't come cheap but Nigerians would want to have such solar installed for them with 3million hahahaha

Solar power is the future brother, the earlier you embrace it the better. Our offices are already going off Nepa grid gradually....same with our Manager's home cheesy

Contact us for your affordable, reliable solar power systems for both small, medium and large scale capacities cool

Oh really!? What is the difference between Tubular and lithium batteries??
When it comes to solar batteries, their superiority goes like this:

Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries - No. 1

Gel-Acid Batteries - No. 2

Tubular Liquid-Acid Batteries - No. 3

And their prices also varies according to their grade....Lithium cost more followed by Gel batteries and lastly Tubular

Buy lithium battery only
Buy panel that are original they charge from 6am till 6;30pm and even in rain

Solar power has never been cheap...in fact, we must appreciate Nigerian solar companies and business owners for even looking for several ways to make solar affordable for all Nigerians to afford....outside Nigeria, solar is not even for the middleclass....its strictly for the rich unless you will finance it with loan.

What we really need in Nigeria is to have banks and financial institutions working with solar energy companies like us to provide funding for Nigerians to acquire solar and pay installmentally based on their income; we are currently working on this and will soon come up with a plan.

You are right, but remember maintenance, though it's still cheaper.

I fill my inverter batteries with inverter(Distilled) water every month and it cost me N5000 to N10,000 monthly.

I don't know if there's anything I can do to reduce such.

Any advice from the professionals here will help. Thanks
go for lithium battery

Na lie... Not everybody can afford ₦10,000 every night to power up generator as at today...

If petrol price was like ₦150/litre... I would run Generator and solar together.... But now pms at 905/litre ₦10,000 is not sustainable..,

In the next 20 years, many DISCOs and GENCOs will be irrelevant to many families.

People are going off-grid everyday, while embracing solar. They are telling 'NEPA' to go hell because it is now obvious that even 'NEPA' has given up on the provision of constant electricity.

I wasn't just referring to the present, there's no light in my current location for over 10yrs now. Residents were using generator non stop back then when fuel was cheap but now most of us have switched to solar.

Even the ones that can't afford standard solar panels have the ones to power lights/fan.
