Theflint1:Lmao,wdym....Peter obi would be living in Oshogbo today, First bank and oil companies HQ would be in Ede,izz.ou and friends will be clearing their goods and containers in Osun because tinubu built the biggest port in Nigeria over there,Raum will be taking straight flights from ile-ife to Dallas,Texas when he is back in naija because the best international airport in Nigeria dey there, oasis go bring Arab investors from Dubai to build high rise buildings in ilesa, migrants from east and south south seeking economic prosperity go full the state and boom the population and gdp... All these in 8yrs of his good governance and building Osun and handling the blueprints of Osun to Aregbesola, oyetola and Jackson adeleke |

Theflint1:By population growth they are outperforming and by landmass, they should have stopped growing because Lagos was full at 5m, talkless of 20m. Lagos is the smallest state in Nigeria |

Amigoss:Tinubu is a good tax collector, I'd always give him that, but other than tax collection o, I don't see any major administrative kini that he has shown over the years. Nigeria's non-oil contribution to GDP would increase and I believe has increased owing to better tax collection, but the citizens aren't better off for it and that's my point. Tinubu as governor of Osun would have collected more tax from its citizens, but none of them here can say the state would have become a choice destination because of Tinubu. |

Ibime:They're simply outperforming and not performing the way you initially suggested, no be only Lagos population dey grow, and Nigeria's entire population can't be growing and Lagos would magically be insulated from that growth. Lagos is contributing its fair share, and not much more. |

Theflint1:Even the Lagos don dey lose its population to Ogun State boundary communities,Ibadan(Oyo) and some dey relocate back to their village because of the harsh Tinubu economy, high rent and high cost of living in Lagos |

Theflint1:They are outperforming handsomely and you are one of the immigrants rushing it. The State population is estimated at 20m, the City at 17m

Ibime:This here. Shell has relocated offices to marina since the 2000s. And a large number of engineers simply fly in and fly out. Instead of putting a stop to kidnapping, it was incentivised. We all saw what happened in ambodes time when those students were kidnapped. We also saw how fashola swiftly dealt with the community when they killed the project coordinator for dangotes refinery. LASG has done a lot to make vi and ikoyi favorable and safe for corporate interests. |

Amigoss:Yea, and it's a good thing, the state needs to push population outside the state, or work on a better spread. The population in Lagos is as much a burden as it is of benefit to the state, so I dunno why they keep complaining about the state's population when the guys handling the state haven't shown any real desire to push population outside the state. One would think that with their man at the centre there'd be deliberate efforts being made to push things outside Lagos, but it's looking like they're further concentrating things in the state. I sure if Ibime express that desire to bring Lagos population down to 5M where Tinubu and e goons dey, dem fit ruff am up ![]() |

Ibime:Put this prompt on ChatGPT and you'd see they're not outperforming like that...pretty much at par with Nigeria's average population growth. "Can I get a comparison of population of Nigerian states in 1991 and now in 2025....include percentage increase too. Want it in table format" The state that has been overburdened with "migration" would be Abuja, then Yobe, you've directed your administrative performance worship in the wrong direction...look to the North. |

Theflint1: . Tax money don shortGood but fued about where to pay your tax will arise, where you reside or where you work.... There was a time a Gov in Ogun State, probably Amosun noticed an influx into Ogun state, and wanted to enforce tax on people living in the state but working in lagos and only paying tax to Lagos State govt, didn't know how that ended... https://pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/01/25/tax-remittance-lagos-ogun-cease-fire/?amp=1 |

| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 12:11pm On May 23, 2025 |
Theflint1:Abuja started from a population of nearly zero so it's obvious if you have a STEM brain that low denominator equals high percentage growth. Yobe will be those fleeing Borno Lagos is outperforming handsomely on the 20m state number and very well even on the 17m, and most importantly, a good portion of migration is by economically empowered migrants, unlike Yobe that is absorbing Borno people that don't have 2 pennies |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Theflint1(m): 12:20pm On May 23, 2025 |
Ibime:So your STEM-powered brain doesn't tell you that a state that was one of the most populated in 1991 would maintinaing their rate of fvcking most likely have one of the highest population's in 2025? Kano that had a similar population to Lagos in 1991 experienced same average growth in that period, maybe we should go and erect a statue to worship its governors since 1999 like you're suggesting we do for Tinubu. I've shown that on average, and percentage wise, which was your original point, Lagos isn't out-performing the rest of the country. |

izzou:Significantly I mean, already mentioned they aren't out-performing rest of the country by much percentage-wise. According to ChatGPT, Nigeria's population in this period grew by 167% and Lagos' grew by 175%.
