JumaiAdama:
Hello guys,

My boyfriend just got a Visa rejection from France Embassy after 6 day of submitting application and he is a first time applicant. It is funny how we submitted all the required documents and I have been on this thread for a very long life plus I am leaving in Europe so I have a bit of experience with visa application. We had the closing balance of 40m in both his bussines and personal accounts we carefully state his source of income, award letters of contract and landed properties that he owe and many more I am really shocked that his application was refused with this reason.

I don’t know what to do gurus in the house

Kindly advise the plan is to visit Europe to see me and go back to Nigeria.

Ties to home country-I have strong and verifiable social, professional, academic and economic ties to Nigeria, which ensure my
timely return:
• I am the active CEO/Director of my company, with ongoing commitments that require my
physical presence.
• My company is engaged in official contracts with the Federal Government of Nigeria, including

Potential Weaknesses (Based on Embassy’s Perspective):Ties to Home Country May Lack Specificity:While the letter lists strong ties (e.g., CEO role, MBA program, contracts), it doesn’t provide specific details to prove these ties require his physical presence in Nigeria immediately after the trip. For example:The MBA program is mentioned, but there’s no indication of specific academic obligations (e.g., exams or classes) during or shortly after July 2025.The government contract is noted, but there’s no evidence of specific deadlines or tasks tied to his presence post-trip.Family ties are mentioned vaguely without details (e.g., dependents or specific responsibilities).Embassies often look for concrete, time-bound obligations that make overstaying unlikely.

Embassies often look for concrete, time-bound obligations that make overstaying unlikely.
This is also a good idea to incorporate concrete reasons why one must return. Although, I think it was already mentioned in the part about being the CEO where he said the work requires his ongoing commitment but like you said, being specific would have been better.

I finally submitted my application today and saw the racket TLS is pulling on people. For example, your passport pix is not bright enough, and you'll pay them to retake it. There are errors in your application, and we can help you correct it. That's 12k and so on.....
@diehard, please have you received your passport back? I also submitted on May 12 and nothing yet

Too lengthy in my opinion.

Your support documents are sufficient to back up the initial letter.
Cut the stories,these people don't have time.

Enclose your personal introductory letter in a page, supported by your credentials.

Hope for the best.

Goodluck.

So would you advise I remove the following sections:
* Purpose of visit
* Financial Capability
* Duration of Stay

By removing those three section, I can get it into a single page but I really want to highlight strong ties to Nigeria.

Also, kindly check your mail @hunee, I've sent you a message

Your support documents already carries information on this , why repeating them? Na wetin dey vex visa officers be this. Long write ups, and rhetorics.

They don't have time to be reading ,my previous Schengen visas, I didn't even have substantial monies in the account, just be genuine with your intentions.

I am sure you know visa officers have a number of files they must attend to daily, so they don't have time.

When you begin say too much and list too many things, you create an atmosphere for suspicion. (just as you can see on the last post for a rejection a page back)

And you know these people are psychologists.

You people don't even know the techniques of visa applications, "sometimes" you have to even use reverse psychology for them too, depending on the circumstance.

Una just dey apply for visa, na strategy. Lol grin

Simple, Straight and keep your letters short but detailed.

You want a visa, go straight and state the documents attached.

All the best.

To support this group. I will share a simple and yet detailed letter of introduction you can use for your applications later . Look out for it.

You went really hard on me lol

I like it tho. I've just reasoned too that if I had too many files to process, I'll likely not read my own letter due to 'too much unneccessary story'

So, I've trimmed it down a lot and still made sure it mentioned key details I would like to highlight.

Lemme know what you think about this new draft. Thank you very much!

I will do my best to ensure you have a proper application submitted and hope you succeed. When is your biometrics?

Just give me 2hrs, I will share a typically sample of what your introductory letters should look like.

Thank you very much. I'm much open to criticism.

In fact, I've been a long-time lurker on this thread and eventually had to create an account on Nairaland so that I can get help from others in looking at my files and docs.

Thank you once again. I'm glad you found time out of your own schedule to even reply to strangers on the internet.

Re: Securing Visa To France, Applying From Nigeria... by auxtin1: 3:35pm On May 23, 2025
I am having issues with booking appointment, at the bottom of the page they asked

Fingerprints collected previously for the purpose of applying for a Schengen visa* Yes or No I chose yes because I have applied for France visa before provided biometrics they now asked under it - Date of validity from* I typed the date 11/21/2018 and they system was telling me "Date cannot be earlier than 59 months ago" Does it mean than once my biometrics is more than 5years old I cannot fill it in that I have submitted biomterics before? Should I just click on "No" and proceed. What does the "Date of validity from*" imply here? Please I need help am stuck here

Yes, once it's been long since you last got a visa you have to redo the biometrics. So, just select no but make sure to add a copy of the previous visa you got as part of the documents you'll submit.

your biometric and data is valid for 5yrs(schengen) ... Canada 10yrs

You can book tls appointment without submitting the France visa form... Just copy the generated FRA1LA20... number then book your tls appointment incase you might need to modify your visa form later

These fees must be paid only by card in local currency. The payment of the application fee does not entitle to a visa and these fees are not refundable, including in case of refusal by the administration or cancellation of the application by the applicant.

Air France have refundable tickets. But make sure you're booking the truly refundable tickets. You can call their customer care to be sure the ticket is refundable.

Someone also shared a trick for booking with Wakanow, such that you won't pay for the flight until you've gotten the visa.

It's because I didn't add a specific date that's why it's "in September"

Like when you say, "I'll go to my village in December" and when someone else says "I'll go to my village on 25th December"

Thank you for spotting that though 🙏🏾
