When you select your answers on the portal it will show that the waiting time is over a year. Its more than 18 months, more like 20-21 months, as they are currently at August 30th, 2023.

Good Morning,as we all wait for our various appointment dates from the Consulate. I implore everyone to contact his/her school,do a personal research for various scholarship openings. We all know the Embassy is currently prioritising applicants who hold various scholarships from the German government, European supported scholarships or the deutschlandstipendium.


Currently the deutschlandstipendium is open for various schools(though not all universities). Personally, I know of the Ohms Professional School, Technical University of Berlin,Hochschule Worms,Bremen etc and it might be closing anytime soon. Do well to check online,each universities have a contact person. Make contacts,ask questions and send in your applications (you never can tell). Good luck 🤞

I applied for an interview date in January 2025 with the old system (i.e. no proof of funds or admission letter) and got the usual confirmation email from the embassy. Now that there is a new system, do i need to register again with the new system? Or will the old application in January be honoured? I‘ll appreciate responses, thank you very much.

I just got a mail from the consulate to submit my enrollment certificate from my university and my enrollment is in August for winter semester. And I submitted my admission letter along with all the documents attached. What am I to do now as I have message my school and they haven't said anything. What can I do now. Pls guys help me on this one.

Did you ever defer your admission? What's the name of your school? Maybe you should apply for the enrolment as you follow up with the mail from the embassy. They may give you a cover mail to the embassy after you have applied for the enrolment.

Gooday everyone one. Please I need clarification on something. I now understand that for private universities, you would need to pay your school fees asides having your blocked account. In a case were somone wants to use a sponsor for his or her school fees, what do I need to provide from the sponsors?
Must it be the person’s company sponsoring me or can a personal account sponsor me? Do I just need a cover letter from the person stating they will sponsor my tuition and also their 3 months bank statement? My brother wants to stand as a sponsor but with his personal naira account.


I actually applied through Ghana and was on their waiting list. They sent an email today for me to fill their online form which they will open publicly in June. So below I attached the screenshot that got me worried.
I have my blocked account and also made 2k Euro deposit to my school and have my admission letter. But seems I need a sponsor or need to pay my full fees which I cannot pay full now.


Please help me if you can🙏

Please to add, can I sponsor myself? My brother is suggesting he can give me the money to put in my business account and I use my business account letter head and statement as a proof of sponsorship. Does that work?

It does not work that way in Germany. You're sending 22mil to a German account, then you'll be issued 1.7mil every month from it. That's €11,904 at 1800 exchange rate

Your sponsor only covers your €11,904 proof of funds which a sponsorship letter stands for. For tuition, they expect the remaining amount in a block account, or the first year payment paid in full

You have to get a response from your school. If your school insists they'll only issue it in August, the embassy will delay your approval until then

They follow a strict chronological order. Your application is valid. They'll only attend to the new portal when the old booking queue has been exhausted

Thank you so much. Please this is the issue. I have my blocked account already, I have my admission already. Now I got a scholarship that will cover 80per of my tuition and I cover 20per. 20per is 2k Euro which I have already deposited to the school. The issue now is that the scholarship is not from a German body or government and they would pay my tuition to the school when I resume in installments. That is why I became scared when I saw on the new portal that we need to upload proof of tuition. So I decided if I can use somone as a sponsor for my tuition. I cannot pay the full tuition as it would be paid for when I resume per semester. If I should block my tuition as a new block account ln addition to my 11,900 for upkeep which I have done already, when will this money be released? Will it be released back to me in full? Because I would need to pay my brother back as my tuition will be covered by the scholarship. Thank you so much

I just received a visa appointment from the embassy. Since I don't have admission yet, I've opted for a private university that requires €8,000 in total tuition fees. The university allows an initial payment of €2,500 to obtain the admission letter for the embassy.

Here's my question: In addition to the regular blocked account requirement of €11,904, do I need to pay the full tuition fees or add the full amount to the blocked account? Or is it sufficient to have the blocked account of €11,904 plus the partial tuition payment receipt of €2,500?

Has anyone had a similar recent experience who can provide guidance?

I think there's a delay in the emails. Someone else who booked 8th September said they haven't gotten a date yet. Have you checked your spam folder? And did you confirm your email in April last year?
