Hello Fellow Nairalanders.
This post is gonna create nostalgic feelings among us and it'll also make us spot the weaknesses in our kids thus knowing which learning style to adopt. It's quite lengthy but I promise you it'll be worth your education. Now I got this from an interesting blog post so as I was doing my research on this topic and I decided to share it here.

Now get your reading glasses, find a good seat and be attentive:

DIFFERENT KINDS OF STUDENTS AND LEARNERS.
In a school setting, students can be categorized based on various factors like learning styles, personalities, and academic approaches.
Some common types include the class clown, the slacker, the nerd, the new student, the overachiever,the artsy student, the athlete, the disruptive student, the lone wolf, the attention seeker, and different types of learners (visual, auditory, kinesthetic).
Additionally, students can be categorized based on theirwebsite learning preferences (visual, auditory, reading/writing, kinesthetic), as well as their role in the classroom (teacher's pet, go-getter, leader).
Here's a more detailed look at some of these categories:

Based on Personality and Behavior:

The Class Clown:
Known for making others laugh, often through humor or antics.

The Slacker:
May be unmotivated or avoidant of schoolwork.

The Nerd:
Primarily focused on academics and often excels inschool.

The New Student:
A student who is new to the school.

The Overachiever:
A student who consistently performs above the expected standard.

The Artsy Student: Interested in creative pursuits like art or music.

The Athlete:
A student who excels in sports and other physical activities.

The Bully:
A student who engages in bullying behavior.

The Disruptive Student:
A student who disrupts the learning environment.

The Loner:
A student who tends to isolate themselves from others.

The Attention Seeker:
A student who seeks attention, often through positive or negative behaviors.

The Helpful Student:
A student who is supportive and encouraging of others.

Based on Learning Styles:

Visual Learners:
Learn best through visual aids like diagrams, charts, and videos.

Auditory Learners:
Learn best through listening and talking.

Kinesthetic Learners:
Learn best through hands-on activities and physical movement.

Reading/Writing Learners: Learn best through reading and writing.

Other Categories:


Adult Learners:
Adults returning to school or pursuing higher education.

Teacher's Pet:
A student who is favored by the teacher.

Go-Getter:
A student who is highly motivated and ambitious.

Leader:
A student who takes on leadership roles in the classroom.

Slow Learners:
Students who have difficulty adjusting to school and learning at a slower pace compared to others.

Independent Students: Students who are self-reliant and proactive in their learning.

Anxious Students:
Students who may be experiencing anxiety or stress.

That's the list I believe some of you reading this will be able to spot your type and be able to detect a similar trait in your kids and know what style to adopt when teaching a difficult subject.

Yeah it does really. It kinda spill over into how we learn new information as we grow older. For me I'm more of a read and write learner type but because of my temperament could easily adjust and adapt to any learning style available. For student Types. I was the lone wolf. Preferring to be alone and just observe.That in itself was due to an inferiority complex which I had to deal with. Took me years to peel off that layer. Still waiting for people to come up and share.
By the way I'm making this post Front page worthy.it should be seen and read by more OPs

Lol, OP means Original Poster. You are the OP in this case. OP is the person who posted the original post being discussed. You're a very good writer so I'm surprised you don't know that.

The vast majority of threads don't make front page, and many, many don't get any comments at all. Example, see the topic we're discussing right now in Religion section, it is twenty something pages without front page.
Anyway, you write very well. Keep up the good work

The study group : They study n write exams sitting next to one another.

1: Ajayi/Kasali/ITK- This student na oversabi. Aunty I, answers questions in class anyhow, tries he's very best to carry first and engage the teacher with questions and suggestions elongating the already strenuous double-period
2:Dodoyon/olodo This one was probably 2 sets your senior but don repeat tire. Na confirm olodo rapata. No just messed with an as him goons for ss3 go change hand for you
3:ladies man [/b]all the ladies seem to flock around this guy with his cool demeanor and cute face. He has probably cancelled more female student than your marked workbooks.
[b]4:Razzmatzz/kpako This one don join JVC already, dey carry rough-coils & igbo for jss3. This one na future executioner.
FFF/FFO - Friend For Food & For Food Only This one na ur paddy because of chow(e.g fani kayode, reno omokry)He finds a way to rare his ugly head whenever you wana eat and disappears like a thief in the night only to showcase next time when beans don almost done. Bad as e bad he must beg for at least one spoon(abeg make I just taste with one spoon) homeboy dey carry spoon for pocket.
Antara/Antman This one na provision magnet. Baba get homemade tools to break any lock wey carry provs. You go school with your provs intact, you come back, unlock your locker but no provs
Scalers men wey suppose dey long jump for Olympics, dey scale fence to chop amala for white house (shout out to Dr Chics- blind dude wey dey follow us scale)
Shout out to my unity schoolers, una suppose relate

Visual Learner here
I used my school fees and bought data to learn from Youtube.

So many skills are free on youtube
Instead of wasting money on school fees and they wont teach us well

I use that money to buy data and download tutorials and academic lessons and knowledge for FREE

Youtube is literally the best online university right now. The amount of free knowledge on YT is wild!!!

Sometimes I would just remember my days in school and would laugh 😂
Then I was a class clown. Very funny, and I Sabi yabb... Funny enough I was good in books too just that I dey very unserious. 😂
I had class mate then too of whom we were birds of the same feathers .. we were 4 in numbers.

Even though we were always being flogged in school, we were loved by most teachers and all our class mates. our absence in school was always felt 😂
Na we be de squad wey dey win class football match that year 😅.

If test scripts is being shared in class, I check mine and see maybe 3/20, I know the rest of the squad will be within the range if 1-4/20 😅😅
We laff and yabb each others alot abd na we dey win girls heart pass too..

Our notes has never been complete 😅 except our basic tech because the teacher was our coach then and the requirement to play football then was a complete note. 😅 Omor na every Thursday we dey either copy the note or find who go copy am for us because Fridays na LaLIGA 🤣

I even remember winning class rep during my jss 2 days base on vote from our class mate..

I won the bookworm then in the class with surprisingly massive votes 😂😂

It's been years since school days but me and my squad still communicate alot but we all went our separate ways even though then we planned on sticking together and attending same higher institution🥲

I'm honestly very surprised this one made FP o. This type of topic usually get no comment talkless of FP😆

I am a combination of the auditory and kinesthetic Learners.In Secondary School before the bell is rang for exam.I had different spots where I can move to and fro reading and revising.I love reading out loud though it is more like whispering.I assimilate fast when I do that.Some of my classmatea then like mocking my reading style but guess what? I was still getting 1st or 2nd every term 😂. Getting into the university to study an Engineering that is more like 70% calculation and 30% theory.I got to adapt to sitting and studying but time to time I still get up and walk around for the theory parts
The reading and writing students really scares me.Like I will see someone rewriting his notes in a full 80leaves.Like una hands no Dey pain una😅

I wasn't a study group type. What I normally do was read about the subject at home and then meet a classmate the next day for clarification on a difficult problem I've been unable to solve. This usually happens during maths assignment or reading for a maths test.

We live for the notes Brother. I was a Visual Learner but due to my temperament and Star sign I could adapt to any style and still excel at it

Yeah you're right. The guys were called "Sissys" while the girls were called "Tomboys" some of them outgrow that tendency as they grow older or before they marry while some don't.
