The only reason why a police should shoot at a car in broad daylight is if there is a shot fired from the car, a weapon is seen inside the car anything else is highly unprofessional

They just hate to see young guys doing well, after they have wasted their lives without proper planning
Truth is, most yahoo boys are now moving to the north since police don't disturb people over there. The problem is, they move with their attitude and lifestyle over there. And the life in the north doesn't tally with the one they're bringing. In the north, police are respected, but some of these guys don't give a f*(k about the police, do when they step out, they act angry with the police, meanwhile the police people would want to show them that they're criminals but they do it unprofessionally. Na where the wahala dey
Nigerians are naturally stubborn. You know how useless the police is and how lawless the country is yet when they stop you, you'll be following them to drag and refusing to stop.

Just stop and show them your papers highest they'll ask you for weekend money. If you like you can give if you like you can tell them you don't have case closed.

First off, what business does a useless person have in the police?....and armed.
Again, why would they ask for money from anyone?...are they armed robbers?. So the CITIZENRY employ them, pay them salaries, arm them to do their job,but they turn around to use the uniforms to terrorize the people and the guns extort you everytime they see you?.

This is beyond ridiculous and it's about time it is stopped by the citizens.

I disagree with you. 95% of them are educated. They are only being pushed by the idea of nothing will happen because they are in uniform fully harmed. When you are arrested, whatever statement they write again you is the final. If they say you are theif, harm robber, yahoo boy or you are on their wanted list, nobody can exonerate you. Lobatan. So, be careful when dealing with the Police. Give them their due respect and go your way.
,
Are you serious? 95 percent of the Nigerian police force is educated?

I no know where you get your own statistics from bruv.
pls take note of the highlighted in your response and my question:

can you give us the cogent reasons that will warrant police shooting at a tyre in a busy public place?

are you saying that if you are not courteous, polite and do not find lunch money for police then they have a right to shoot you?

what evidence do you have that the driver whose tyre was shot was "obnoxious, argumentative"?

the police that shot a kid in Ibadan because the refused to stop, where is he right now?

what was his reaction after shooting the kid?

where is it a rule that if you are not courteous, polite and dont find lunch money for police, you are obnoxious, argumentative, and trying to evade the checkpoint by driving recklessly, then the police should shoot at you?[/quote
No, I'm not saying the Police have a right to shoot at a driver if they refuse to stop, argue, or do not give egunje. Nigeria is not a sane society where law and order thrives, we all no that, it is close to a lawless society. The Police or other paramilitary outfits are severely corrupt and corruption has become cancerous in our society, that being said, the onus is on us the citizens to play according to the unwritten laws of the land. Because we can't rid Nigeria of corruption in the next 20 years, and I say this with a sense of regret, but unfortunately this is where we find ourselves.

So with regards to the case in Ibadan, the driver of the vehicle was driving in the opposite direction dangerously therefore provoking the police to react irrationally, knowing the fully well the type of police we have.
