Compelling us to vote is not the issue...will the votes count? Make a law that addresses rigging. Strictly electronic voting.... everyone should see the results reflecting live as people vote. |

When the citizens see that their votes count, you don't need a bill to compel them to vote. They'll happily exercise their civic duties. |

It's a distracting Bill they deliberately create to distract the people from the real issues.. I double dare them to pass compulsory transmission and recognition of results transmitted to Irev, and electronic voting.. |
| Re: Speaker Abbas Withdraws Compulsory Voting Bill by 2tpick: 2:30pm On May 26, 2025 |
“Compulsory voting has long been practised with notable success in countries such as Australia, Belgium and Brazil, where it has helped sustain participation rates above 90 per cent, while nations like Argentina and Singapore have also implemented similar measures to foster inclusivity at the ballot box,” the statement added. These politicians will always put the cart before the horse. The countries he mentioned are already using electronic voting systems and their elections are mostly free and fair. Pursue reforms that will make elections free and fair before you start pushing for compulsory voting. |
