.......Names The Punch's Leke Baiyewu as CPS

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, has made 33 fresh appointments of personal Aides, to assist him in the discharge of his office.

This is coming barely after two weeks when the Speaker appointed Musa Abdullahi Krishi as his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, and Dr Jerry Uhuo as the Special Adviser on Policy and Strategy.

Abbas in as statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Krishi, named Leke Bayeiwu of The Punch Newspaper as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS) and Ahmed Musa of Daily Independent Newspaper as Special Assistant on Print Media.

The Speaker advised the new political appointees to discharge their duties in compliance with the new Schedule of Duties in the Office of the Speaker and utmost commitment to the implementation of the Legislative Agenda of the 10th House of Representatives.

Krishi added that the appointments take immediate effect.

These are the bastards milking the carcass of this nation dry. We are talking of cutting the cost of governance by reducing these political cronies being rewarded as aides but here is a heartless opportuned political rascal adding to it in accumulating a retinue of needless political aides.

What prevents this nation from running a unicameral or par time legislature? People that constitute about 70% of the budgetary load? Nigeria is truly far from it. We need a mass revolution.

As much as I want to criticize the Speaker for this unnecessary appointment of aides,I remember at least the Man has provided Temporary appointment for 33 Nigerians.
It will be Nice if Mr speaker could at least employ youths that are unemployed,instead of giving employment to people who have something doing.
It will really be nice if media aides can be employed from Nairaland.
It will help provide employment for some very unruly people on the platform.....

I celebrate Leke Baiyewu though,I have never met him in my life though,but the man is as constant as the Morning Sun and the evening Moon on Saturday Punch.
I have been reading his article on the legislature in the Punch newspaper for more than 9 years and it's always very interesting,I think there was a period he covered the Aso villa some years ago.
There's reward in being consistent and if anyone deserves to be a legislative aide it's Mr Leke Baiyewu.
Now I deviate from the Topic, Burna Boy just won a RECORD 4th BET INTERNATIONAL AWARD and The mods haven't deemed it fit to put it on the front page of Nairaland,but if Davido rides his car on the street of Lagos it's new worthy and will be on front page,even a newless and very stale throwback picture of Wizkid made the frontpage of Nairaland.

One person, 33 aids?

Hope all these rubbish stop in our polity.

They made us believe that we lose so much money through fuel subsidy, we believe and agree with them but just look at how extravagant they are in spending the money we ought to save from fuel subsidy.
Imagine 33 special adviser for what exactly? Can't they combine those duties since most of them are the same? They can't because they are not the one catering for the salaries.

They removed fuel subsidy, prices of things are skyrocketing yet the minimum wages still remain the same. We are just begging for at least 20% increment at least to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy but they refused.

Forget online, people are really suffering. U will see someone work from morning to night only to get money that cannot afford his daily three square meal. Pity for us small, wicked politicians
