Politicians need this PR to keep showing that they are connected to the masses. Enter the streets and ask people what they want from their president to get firsthand information about what your citizens think. Everything mustn't be meetings upon meetings that produce no results.

When Obama was president, he comes to work sometimes, leaves the oval office and hits the streets of Washington DC and starts shaking hands with ordinary Americans. Sometimes, he chills at coffee shops with ordinary Americans and had long conversations with them.

Some people even cried upon seeing their presidents on the streets hugging them. That singular act made many Americans who didn't even like his policies fall in love with him. Nobody else has ever done that since he left.

The problem with today's Nigerian leaders is that they have an elitist mindset. I am better than you. I belong to the 1% of the 1% while you are just broke hoi polloi! That's why nobody should expect any reasonable reforms from them.

He's a VP. VPs are mostly seen, not heard. They represent the President wherever he sends them.
Except in rare cases where the President respects the VP or the VP is more powerful behind the scenes like Dick Cheney, VP of Bush 2 and Idiagbon, 2nd in Command to Buhari in 1983 to 1985.
