As you said, Atiku was powerful in OBJ's presidency. Why it has changed since then is the kind of people we have in power, at federal and state level. The current President had 3 deputy governors during his tenure as Lagos Governor.

If the number 1 is not scared of 2, they will let them flourish but the insecurity of the number 1 is why it looks like 2 is a spare tire. It has nothing to do with the office, it's the personality of the leader and this is how we know they can't lead. Buhari first tried it by giving Osinbajo the free hand until Babachir challenged him. People think it was the Northern forces who didn't want him to be popular, what they don't know is that someone did not want any of his protégé to outshine him. I don't know why ppl look for trouble when there is none. The VP office or role is not prominent nor requires him everywhere. He has his role and agencies under him that he controls. Is he complaining. Many juicy agencies are under him. He has not been denied his rights .
