1. There are no exemptions

2.You can register under any ICAN Centre that registers and not under an alumni or you can do it yourself(DIY)

3. The choice is yours..you can get handouts to read but since you have little or no knowledge about account, why not enroll for offline classes?

4. You can rewrite it as many times but I read a clause that you have to pass all the exams(foundation, skills and professional) from the date you registered till five years after

I hope this helps
I think five year rule is for professional level only

When Tinubu was removing subsidy they said all those money meant for subsidy payment which are now being will be utilized for infrastructure , cushioning the effects of subsidy removal and reducing poverty . Today Tinubu is seeking to borrow over 21 billion dollars , over 2 billion euros and over 15 billion Yen to finance those same aforementioned mega cost center .

Of course the rubber stamp house of assembly won’t ask plenty questions before granting his loan request.

Una wey Dey para say Obi supporters don’t fancy Atiku being the face of the coalition , I have news for u. You have bigger worries bigger than the coalition sef . Tinubu with that kinda financial war chest will tear to shreds any form of coalition irrespective of who is leading it . Make everybody just rest and watch the film being set before our eyes.
Ofcourse all that subsidy proceeds was gonna be relooted.

That was always my worry.

He took away the only benefit the common man was enjoying from our corrupt evil leaders...now there is heavy suffering and backwardness in the country, yet the money recovered from subsidy removal can not be accounted for. Where is the positive effects?

Una speed Darlington fans no dey update again about his latest feature in the news for the wrong reasons; Pedophilia?

https://www.nairaland.com/8437419/needed-controversy-promote-song-speed

In 2022, Speed Darlington had in an Instagram live revealed an altercation he had with a neighbour who accused him of getting too close to a 16-year-old girl.

The singer filmed two women outside his apartment while he walked around his living room holding a knife to threaten them, saying, “They continually invade my privacy, opening my window, opening my curtain. I’m alone, two people attacking me.”

One of the women, also filming him, was heard saying, “You’ve met your match. Speed comes outside. I will deal with you; I will deal with you. Why are you running? Continue your live video, let them know you’re a rapist. You want to start messaging a 16-year-old girl, a house girl. Open this door, come out.”

PUNCH Online also reported in 2023 that Speed Darlington similarly got many talking following his search for a girlfriend who must be between the ages of 16 and 20.

“I’m looking for a girlfriend number two, 16 to 20 years old. Anyways all these announcements are a waste. I just need to do what I did before; which is go do a show and spend a week in the village after the show, find somebody to bring her to Lagos,” he said.

Dey play!

People wey don dey explain and defend this move already on twitter .

Dem say he wan use the money plan and develop Nigeria such that all the infrastructure deficit we've had over the years , the gap will be bridge within the few years of his presidency. Dem say Tinubu with this move is taking us back to the path of prosperity.

Omo! I never see this kind thing before for my life, make people dey lie to themselves confidently grin. Imagine thinking Tinubu who awarded a multi trillion naira project like the Coastal road to his Lebanese friend without following due process is interested in returning Nigeria to one yeye path of properity grin grin grin
grin grin grin grin

I was amused when people were asking the right questions about the road. Something that's less than 100km from the original one, is what FG is committing 4 trillion naira in 8 years? grin

After 8 years, they are coming to tell you why Shettima will be better than Tinubu grin

So you think Osimhen who earns approximately 20billion yearly has more pressing expenses than a career person with two kids and other relatives on a descent salary? I would love to see how you came to that conclusion. Either you can't really quantify how big his salary is or you just purposely making excuses for being wasteful.

So you would rather work for 40years to earn the same amount you could have earned in 4? That's absurd.
Be like A40 like constant 9 to 5 work. grin

Yes, I learnt the initial loan was taken under stringent conditions based on the way the economy was at the time.

They paid it back so they can get another with more favourable terms.

$1k per day easy

Assume bank interest rate of 4% which is the current rate in the money markets

Case of $5m: Compound 5m over 30 years at 4% interest is $16.22m

Case of $1k: Compound the first $365k over 29.5 years, the second $365k over 28.5 years and so on in an arithmetic progression and you land at $20.88m after the 30 years.

I use 29.5, 28.5, 27.5 etc to bring approximate linearity to the calculation as the interest on your $1k on 1st Jan is not the same as the interest accrued on 31st Dec, so use half years for the first year of investment

The only reason to accept the $5m upfront is if you can guarantee a return better than the bank by 0.9% (so 4.9% return) - and assuming you cannot also throw your $1k per day into the same 4.9% yield investment. Let's say there is an instrument with a minimum investment requirement of $5m
The answer is easy for a mature mind, for a 20yr old its the opposite. You will start overrating yourself that the 5m could have turned you to Elon Musk thats the time you will start hearing how you can invest and turn into Bill Gates. Before you know it you are Wilson Oruma

While everyone will be asking what kind of spendthrift blew through 5m (as at 30yrs ago) not knowing it was a perfect setup to fail

There’s a particular politician who represented Somolu constituency at the Lagos state house of assembly for 4 terms i. e 16 years as a member of Lagos state house of assembly . His name is Rotimi Olowo.

He decided to step up to Federal House of assembly in 2023 so he collected APC nomination form for Federal house of reps for 2023 elections..

Due to the electoral act 2022 that forbids a candidate from holding two nomination forms at the same time , he couldn’t get the Lagos state house of assembly nomination form as insurance in case his federal house of assembly fails. ( This same law affected Akpabio and Ahmad Lawan but they bent the law and worked their way back to senate after contesting APC presidential Primary )

Unfortunately for him, he lost the APC primary for the federal house of assembly post and he can’t go back for the state house of assembly own. That was how he lost out and wasn’t on ballot at all during the 2023 general elections .

This man stayed just 2 years out of office and guess what ? He contested the recently concluded APC primaries for Somolu Local Government. I mean someone who was a state house of assembly member is contesting to be a local government chairman within 2 years of not chopping politics money. This is to buttress ur point that once they taste public funds , there’s no going back. They will do everything possible to find their way back to the cookie jar .
I have seen this before. A man I know who was in State govt civil service, rose to Perm Sec, DG etc.
While in service he never bought foodstuffs at home, he never bought flight ticket, he never fuelled any car, he probably never bought any car. He was spending way beyond his income but he wouldnt know because the State govt was picking his bill

The day all these benefits drop off and the real financial standing shows you will be shocked

Let me tell you some governors who left office just in 2010 to 2015 are now broke. You will be thinking despite all the money they stole, but remember they have an army of dependents and political people who they feed daily, they might g on some Senate run whch gulps money and fail

Why do you think all dem Anyim, Gbenga Daniels, Akala, Ladoja etc all found their way to APC. Beyond the EFCC issues, many of them cannot survive for 10yrs outside govt with their standard of life

People have made more money than Osimhen and blew right through it. So rest with that narrative. Poor money management can wreck anybody

I'm saying steady flow of income over 40 years is smarter than lump sum money in 4 years that you have to stretch over 40 years. Anyone with common sense will take the former.

Our resident money expert in the house Ibime already gave a detailed breakdown on this

Because they're trying to stretch that money and maintain a certain lifestyle. Going back to sardines from caviar and escargot is very difficult

It's not just an African thing. Shey Ronaldinho no run down ni?

Flexing and balling follow but then you want to make moves as well that let you stretch your money when inflow reduces and that's when you fall victim to bad investments.

The problem is nothing and I mean nothing beats steady inflow of money. Smart people know this.

Poor money management can make one waste 500million dollars or 1 billion dollars that doesn't mean it isn't generational wealth. I don't really think you grasp what the actual argument is here.

The scenario I gave to you is totally different from what ibime did calculation for. In this case you are earning the same amount. Inflation will erode all those monthly payments significantly. Back in 2015 if you were offered 36million lump sum or 300thousand naira monthly for ten years and your picked the latter, you would be in tears right now.

LordAdam16:
I'll give you that lack of financial literacy is a huge problem. Easily a top 3 problem.
A sportsman can go on LinkedIn or any cfp directory.
Make a pick. Set aside $10,000 and buy enough of a professional's time to brush up on the basics.
Personal responsibility. No excuses there.
You're assuming these players are book smart be that. A lot of them aren't. They would be remedial if they weren't gifted athletically

Interact with some of them and you come to find out.

LordAdam16:
Still, I believe the odds are stacked against footballers.
How do you retire in your mid to late 30s to join the traditional workforce with virtually no transferable skills.
How should you make bread?
You have like 20 more working years.
In most other high-earning professions, if you retire early, you can take a multi-year sabbatical and return to a promising project.
That's the dilemma and explains why they need to learn financial literacy early cos the work required to be a professional athlete. To be a one percenter of one percenter doesn't allow you time to take up another profession. Especially in your formative years. One is going to suffer that's just what it is

Think of someone studying medicine. He can't combine it with any other thing. But to be a professional athlete in a major league that pays decent your odds to make it are longer than a medical student

LordAdam16:
Few people are born financially literate.
You pick up a lot through lived experiences.
Regular people make their mistakes in their 20s and 30s.
You learn key concepts like delayed gratification and embrace a patient grind to wealth (you've no choice).
You learn to avoid ponzis and exercise caution when exploring business deals with those who're close to you.
You make mistakes. You write off debt and failed investments. Most times you recover.
A footballer who makes the same typical mistakes in the same age range is in trouble.
I think the background also matters. Most of these players come from poverty, you can never think of the long game when you're from poverty same way Esau didn't play the long game. One of my favorite sayings, never negotiate on an empty stomach. I've learned the hard way in person so that saying is very relevant.

Kenyon Martin on Gil's Arena was talking about black tax and comparing himself to his son. He made the league and had to buy his mom a house, take care of family members but when his son Kenyon Jr made the NBA his son didn't have to give nobody money. He could learn from his father's errors.

I personally say financial literacy should be part of the curriculum someway somehow

LordAdam16:
A financial planner will tell a tech bro or an analyst in his late 20s to buy growth stocks.
The advice from a fiduciary for a footballer in that age bracket is a bond-heavy portfolio.
Financial literacy only goes so far, especially for those who don't retire with an eight+ figure stack.
For every Osimhen, there are a dozen Chrisantus.
I empathize that they have to glide through the last half of their working years with few non-minimum wage career prospects.

Make he no just marry until his twilight years in football.
Who no 1 wait, mk she getat.

-Lord
It's not about buying stocks. A lot of us the bane of our existence is our expenses. If you didn't spend like the prodigal son you would not need to take crazy risks to try to make that money stretch. A good financial planner IMO is one that watches, tracks your expenses not the one telling you what dodgy stock to buy. Property IMO is your only foolproof investment anyway

I've forgotten the ex Super Eagle that was flying his friends to watch him play every weekend. Then after match they will fly back to Nigeria and ball for Sheraton Hotel. Such spending is not sustainable no matter how much you make

Literacy and prudence will definitely give you a fighting chance

That Emmanuel na werey. Nothing wey e no do. Acting, Music. But Cele was the first Super Eagle that touched real generational paper. One would have thought at the time he would be set for life
He used to go out a lot and spend £1k per night, then come home, put his fingers down his throat and vomit everything he ate and drank. He said as a footballer he can't keep such things in his body. His favourite club where he went every week then was Chinawhites. He said £1k was the standard spend on a night out for him. My friend who was his clubbing buddy recounted all these to me, and he and Gallas used to give us their complimentary tickets to Stamford Bridge quite often. Or rather he would give us and collect Gallas own and give us.

Still I can't see where all his money went as his clubbing spend is not that crazy. I think he spent a lot of money on his court case for sleeping with a 15 year old girl. He was lucky he was using football age so the judge looked at him as an 18 year old and the age difference was not that bad so he went Scott free. Still that was his first contract. He still had 2 contracts left to make that money up. I don't know where the rest of his money went except I heard Emmanuel was always coming with different business ideas that kept flopping like music labels etc. His football academy boss Mr Babayaro must have collected as well. Before we knew it, my man has gone bankrupt less than 5 years after retirement.
